Restaurants in Alameda, CA
1.Pasta Pelican Restaurant
2455 Mariner Square Dr
I always order the same thing Salmon Picatta. It has grilled salmon with sauteed mushrooms, capers and fresh basil in a creamy lemon, butter, and white wine sauce tossed with penne. To die for!!! If you go on a weekend, make reservations if you want to sit by the window.
2.Aroma Restaurant And Bar
2337 Blanding Ave
I had my new Born Baby Party there, the food was good, I like the time they spend discussing the menu with us. ( and we were able to customize the menu to our liking.) The is place is good, that we were able to block off an area so there is enough privacy. Overall I will recommend this restaurant.
3.Pier 29 Waterfront Restaurant
1148 Ballena Blvd
I was hesitant to try this restaurant after reading the other reviews, but it was the most convenient location for a group of us to meet. I couldn't disagree more with the reviews that said the service was bad. In fact, we marveled at how incredibly attentive the wait and bus staff were. Our beverages were barely half empty before someone would magically appear and do a quick refill. The service reminded me of that you'd receive at a 5-star restaurant -- everyone was so attentive and it seemed liked we had two or three people assigned to our table. Our waitress even heard me mention about something someone got me for my birthday recently, so she ended our meal with a hot fudge sundae on the house to celebrate my birthday. We all were stunned by the efficiency and pleasant demeanor of all who worked there. The food was very very good -- we ate breakfast and even my very picky friend from England devoured hers! Highly recommend this place!!
2263 S Shore Ctr
I love it. Eatin' good in the nieghborhood
5.East Ocean Seafood Restaurant
1713 Webster St
My husband and I tried East Oean after we read the reviews about the restaurant; all the good reviews are true! East Ocean has fresh seafood, excellent preparation, and reasonable pricing! Highly recommended! This place becomes our favorite Dim Sum place. To beat the crowd, we just go in early on the weekends. The parking is easy to find around the restaurant.
1338 Park St
If you like traditional Italian (very think crust) pizza, this is the place. Food has always been good, service friendly, and the wait not too long. Pasta's are okay, but their top notch items are pizza and salads. Take out is really convenient too.
7.Kamakura Japanese Restaurant
2549 Santa Clara Ave
This is one of the best places I have found in the bay area. They have a broad selection of super fresh sushi, a great selection of sake to compliment the meal, and a friendly professional staff that goes out of their way for the customer.
8.Uptown Cafe And Crepes
410 21st St
9.Yang Chow Restaurant
3211 Grand Ave
I liked the food, simple and clean and the staff was nice too. I'll be back with my wife and kids soon. Chow main is they only the they eat so this is the perfect place for that
3232 Grand Ave
The pot stickers and pork chow mien are absolutely the best I have ever had ! You must try this restaurant you will thank me
2375 Shoreline Dr
I have never had any problems here. You may have to wait, because everyone wants to eat there. The prices are good, the staff always treats us well and the food has always come pretty quick. As for ambience??, I came to eat and enjoy the company of my companions. Six visits, six wonderful meals.
12.Jim's Coffee Shop
2333 Lincoln Ave
Why hasn't Jim's been on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives? The food and service is always great. I seem to only go here in the morning and afternoon, but every meal so far has been wonderful. I have been eating at their establishment at least once a month for the past 12 years.
13.Linguini's Pizza & Brew
1506 Park St
Linguinis is our family spot. There are 3 parts to this restaurant. #1 is the pasta and wine side. It is quite and romantic and especially for a special birthday it is perfect! #2 is the sports bar side. Pizza and beer. Several choices of beer and great pizza! You can watch the game and have a family meal. #3 is the game side. If your childs soccer team just won the game you can bring the whole team in there and have dinner. They have a few arcade games for the kids and the adults can sit and talk. The waiters on all sides are great. They really care about your meal. Tables are cleaned right away. I have never waited long for any side. If something is incorrect they are the first to say I am sorry and fix it right away. If you ask any of my family members where they want to eat Friday night dinner they will say Linguinis!
14.Yokohama Japanese Restaurant
1427 Webster St
I love the people who own this restaurant! They are the cutest couple! I use to eat there atleast once a week, my favorite roll being the Lion Roll. They have great cold noodles and shioyaku (sp?) halibut cheek! This place is great of all occasions, the best advice I can give you is to eat as much as you can because its the best sushi in Alameda!
2319 Central Ave
If you're into a good burger, stop by BurgerMeister!! Ask for medium, well-done will be overcooked. Worth the $ spent. Servers are quick and on the ball!
16.Toomie's Thai Cuisine
1433 Park St
While there aren't many reviews for it here, just poke around the net and you'll find tons of people raving about this fantastic thai restaurant in Alameda. We go there at least twice a week, no exaggeration. We've tried the other Thai places in Alameda and this one wins hands down.\r \r We've rarely had a medicore dish here but we definitely have some favorites: The thai egg rolls and shrimp wontons are so good you could make a meal out of them (I have). The cashew nut chicken, basil stir-fry, and panang curry are dishes we get nearly all the time. Also, the pad thai here really is the best we've had anywhere (everytime I order it elsewhere I am disappointed). Other good ones are the three-flavored fish (yummy!) and the spicy noodles (pad kee mao). \r \r We've tried many other dishes but those are the ones that we can never get enough of. The only problem we've found is pulling ourselves away from our favorites in order to try anything else! The service is great and they make you feel like family. Be sure to try it-- but prepare yourself to be hooked!
17.Ark Chinese Restaurant
1405 Park St
Great handmade noodles. Maybe a wait for table and service. All plates have enough good food for a pleasant night out. Close to movies. Try spicy bamboo shoots to get it started. Noodles so good. Make sure to ask for handmade

My wife and I heard that Cafe Enrico had a new Chef and that the food has changed for the better. We haven't been there in about a year so we decided give it a try... So we went to Cafe Enrico. WOW! We were met at the door by this beautiful hostess with a lovely smile, who introduced her self as Noelle, as she escorted us to our table by the water. Shortly there after the new Chef appeared at our table and introduced his self as Chef Allen and began to tell us about the new menu and offered us free samples of his Napa Valley Smoked Salmon. I am a die hard smoked salmon lover and thought I was very knowledgeable about the finer smoked salmons of the world. He stated that his smoked salmon was one of the finest in the world. Ha! Ha! I have heard this several times from various restaurants in an attempt to sell their smoked salmon. So, I wasn't impressed with the chef's pitch. Although he was very good and also very informative about salmons. After he left the table, I told my wife, ""Typical sales pitch"", as I reached for the samples. My wife and I tasted the sample and, OH MY GOD, Chef Allen was right. This is world class smoked salmon. It was the best I has ever tasted. My wife and I both ordered the salmon and it was so wonderful. I asked the waiter if we could speak to Chef Allen. He came out of the kitchen and we thanked him for the samples and told him how much we enjoyed his salmon. We will be back very soon to try his baby back ribs that we overheard the next table raving about. It's about time that we have a ""Real Chef"" on the Island. Welcome to Bay Farm Island Chef Allen.
1313 Park St
What a great place! Nice ambiance, great music, friendly people. This is what a bar should be! You can have a nice conversation or sit back and listen to the music.
20.Gims Chinese Kitchen
2322 Lincoln Ave
This is the most gangsta chinese takeout ever. I have had chinese food from all over the world and this has to be my favorite place. i grew up in alameda and loved it and i have eaten all over and this is the best i have had. i didn't kno how good it was until i left alameda.
21.China House Restaurant
2328 Santa Clara Ave
Try the Po-Po Platter, it is to die for! Every dish I had was excellent!
22.Dragon Rouge Restaurant
2304 Encinal Ave
Alameda has several good restaurants, but very few great restaurants. Dragon Rouge is one of the great ones! The rolls were divine. We had the sampler plater which is a great way to try several rolls at one sitting. The curry chicken, the garlic spinach, the Vietnamese crepe, the grilled shimp - all perfect. The green tea ice cream was a wonderful ending. It is a crowded, so expect to have your conversations overheard.
2337 Blanding Ave
Sabrina was great! Good too.
24.Sakura Sushi & Grill Restaurant
2408 Santa Clara Ave
Little place, kid friendly, very friendly and helpful staff. Not posh, but great food and relaxing environment.
25.New Sushi King
2661 Blanding Ave Ste E
I love this place. I brought my husband there a couple of times when he is the area. Everything that we ordered were delicious. The atmosphere is awesome. Friendly staff. If you like Poke, it is must try dish there. Also , the Red Devil roll, yummy...
2300 Encinal Ave
This is a great spot for a light lunch or early dinner near Park Street. The food is fresh, arrives quickly, and you can't beat the prices. Note that there are no traditional sushi/sashimi options on the menu--just rolls. I like the California rolls, and the tempura has great texture. Avoid this location at 12:30 during the school year, as the high school is across the street, and the space fills up with students...the line can be long.
891 Island Dr Ste A
Harbor View Restaurant, first of all, has choices that you don't see in all Chinese restaurants. FIRST AND FOREMOST, THEY DO NOT SERVE SHARK FIN SOUP! It is a cruelty, serving this, and they do NOT serve it! GOOD! The shrimp and candied walnuts is outstanding...a lovely sauce on the shrimp...just the best. The Hot and Sour Soup is the best I've had. The Salt and Pepper Fish is fantastic....light and tasty (ask for something to use as a dip for them) The service and lovely water-site, is fantastic. Everyone is friendly, and the only place that I can even compare them with, is PF Chang, which is just a chain. Go there and enjoy the wonderful food. I won't eat Chinese anywhere on this island.
2210 S Shore Ctr Ste H
This place has a really nice urban ambiance. The food was great... when i mean great, i mean GREAT! from all the other Chinese restaurants that i have been to, i have to admit that the food here is not comparable to all the other ones. There is a wide variety of different flavors that'll satisfy your taste buds. Their Gourmet Beef was mouth watering, and the eggplant claypot was sizzling delicious! the honey glazed BBQ pork was finger licking good. I was very pleased with this place, i finished off with a cocktail (open bar)... i was pleased because it was just the right drink to finish off. Overall.. i highly recommend this place for those who are looking for an explosion taste of Chinese cuisine.
29.Up 2 U Thai Eatery
