I love italian food. I love good Service. I love Good dinning atmosphere. Everything I just mentioned is at the very high level at Dopo. Me and my girlfriend god hooked after first time we went there. And to top everything I just said their prices are very very fair. Not expensive at all.\r \r Their place is very clean, their weighters have very good manners, they smile, make you feel welcome. I have not since this kind of food and service in US yet. This was something I am used to seeing in Europe so I was very pleased to see such a cool restaurant in my neighbourhood. I will be definitely going there and calling it one of my favorite restaurants.
4218 Piedmont Ave
I found Xyclo in Zagat with a 26 food rating (that's in the Stratosphere) and our meals earned that high applause. The bill for 4 people was only 2 digits- unbelievable- we will definitely go back often

Ok, I know Commis is Michelin rated...but they lost me on the dessert... I went there with a date on Christmas Eve; The prefixed menu was lovely. The food was amazing and the staff were just attentive enough. The lemongrass soda was delicious. My date and I both ordered different things, and a matching wine selection. So, they poured us each a different glass of wine at every course. Where Commis fell short was dessert. I am a big dessert fan. I had an apple tart that was lacking. It had the feel of a frozen puff-pastry. We ordered something else with pumpkin in it. Both desserts were good - and we ate them - but they were not the kind of desserts I dream of. And I do dream of desserts; on occasion.

This restaurant has had only a couple of reviews, all of them good. I found this place to be really good. Unigue and creative menu combined with great service. The bar is really beautiful and the overall atmosphere is great. I dined with several clients and we all agreed that this restaurant is a winner. I live far away but I will make an effort to come back and taste the rest of the menu.

Share small plates with a fine glass of wine from around the world on the heated patio in the back! The food is excellent, the service personalized and the atmosphere feels very European. Make sure you save room for the Gianduja Creme Caramel for dessert - it's delightful.

Yes, the place can get crowded and yes it can be noisy by the bar, but the food is great and the staff is friendly and helpful. Prices seem very reasonable. For all of those complaining about the prices--this is not a taqueria, so why would you expect taqueria prices? Also, I have never left the place without either being completely stuffed or taking leftovers home. How much food does one need? Anyway, back to the point. This place serves up some great food. And the menu is always changing to take advantage of what?s fresh and in-season. I've had great seafood dishes here and the margaritas are excellent. The complimentary house-made chips with ancho-chili salsa are awesome and another reason why I don?t understand how you could leave this place hungry. You can't go wrong here.

If this is what real Mexican food is supposed to taste like, what the heck have I been eating before at Mexican chains?

Wonderful sushi--very inventive rolls especially and also good tempura, great wakame (which is surprisingly hard to find, being often bilgey) salad and wonderful cold soba. I especially love the amigo roll, which started out as a special and may not be listed but is available: spicy maguro, tempura shrimp, avocado and rice in a pink soy paper roll drizzled with celadon-colored wasabe cream and bright coral tobiko. So pretty and delicious! And surprisingly reasonable. They do have outdoor seating as overflow with heaters but we didn't find it that comfortable and once they let some visiting Japanese businessmen smoke out there, just a few feet away--even after we protested.

15.El Grullense Restaurant

My family and I would eat hear when it was originally called LaFonda years ago. It was the best. Stopped going when a new owner took over. Went there recently with my own family and everything was delicious. Kid friendly. I will definitely be back.
16.Los Cocos Salvadorian Rstrnt

They make the best pupusas ever. Everything is freshly made. Small Restaurant hard to stop from the street. But a must try. I have been going there for over 20 years. And will continue to go.
4039 Piedmont Ave
I recently attended a private party at Cesar and was very impressed. The interior, with high ceilings and an impressive bar, was beautiful, comfortable, and great for socializing. It was too cold to sit on the outdoor front patio, but it looked quite nice. The tapas menu was tasty, but not delicious, and some dishes were better than others. Thin gourmet seasoned french fries, paella, mini crab sandwiches, and filo pastries stuffed with meats and vegetables were well received, but many of the colder salad plates were just mediocre, and the finger-food shrimp was far too difficult to eat. For dessert, delectable cookies and orange pound cake with whipped cream were great treats, but dense, bitter fudge and overly rich brownie wedges were disappointing. The atmosphere is great and the food is different and fun to try, but the fare is too cold and leaves something to be desired.

Fast and very friendly service. I highly recommend it. Loved the 12 ounce Prime Rib!

Ninna is a true gem, a neighborhood bistro where one can say, ""Good Eats Where Neighbors Meet"". At Ninna, you'll find creative Mediterranean food with a twist of Thai, where Chef Ponnarong a.k.a Junior creates surprised and exotic dishes that hit your table the right way. The presentation and the freshness of the food guarantee that you will return for his ever daily changing special of the day. Ninna also has an awesome wine list to complement the food. The service is great, but food may be slow. I'd recommend making a reservation before arrival. This creative gem is a place you must visit. Plenty of parking.

first time visitor to the Montclair location. I use to go to the one located in Jack London Square, but it closed down. I was excited to see that the quality and service is still alive and well. Friendly staff, but more important excellent food. I was never rushed. It was a perfect dinner with perfect company of friends.

Bocanova's has a great atmosphere, although a bit noisy inside! I would have given this restaurant 5 stars, but unfortunately we had the worst waiter, who never looked us in the eyes and appeared to be full of himself! \r \r Great selection of wines and cocktails were delicious too!\r \r We enjoyed the Peruvian black olives and guasaca sauce for starters! We also had the halibut ceviche, which unfortunately had a bit of a fishy taste to it! We then moved on to an incredible quinoa salad, which had perfectly cooked shrimp and red beets! For our entrees we had the Peruvian chicken and the steak with chimichurri sauce, with a side of sweet potato and chipotle gratin! All in all, the meal was really enjoyable and a great ""Pan-American"" experience! What wasn't perfect was our waiter who thought he was God's gift to the world!
6317 College Ave
Incredible! Best restaurant in the East Bay. Service is exceptional, food and wine are amazing. Very difficult to get a table on Fri and Sat nights - call a week+ in advance or drop in to potentially get a seat at the bar. A SF quality dining experience in the East Bay.\r Don't waste time reading doghairnancy's comment below. Doghair - Berkeley has plenty of vegetarian places that allow you to sip on your Wheat Grass and savor on your zucchini. Your semi-vegetatian friends probably had a good laugh over your silly complaints about the waitress. Next time, let your friends enjoy and you should just plan on stopping by the Berkeley Bowl and eating your nuts, soup and salad at home.
4390 Telegraph Ave Ste G
Been going here for years. Great sushi, very fresh, good, fast service. Place fills up so it can sometimes take a while to get a seat. The neighborhood is fine for walking around in while you're waiting. They're open until 2 or 2:30 am - what's not to like. I recommend it to anyone who really likes sushi. Oh, the 49er roll is great.
3257 Lakeshore Ave
You don't read much about this restaurant but it has become one of my favorite breakfast spots. Never much of a wait and it has outside dining on the patio at the rear of the restaurant. Waffles are great, especially the weekend special Belgium waffle with bananas and strawberries. The wait staff is attentive and keep the coffee flowing. Friends have ordered the egg dishes and rave. The food is excellent and the price is right.,
29.Siam Bay Authentic Thai Cuisine
1009 Clay St
A friend of mine and I made plans to have an early dinner at a top Chinese Restaurant one evening but they were closed until 5:00. On whim we decided to go to Siam Bay (neither of us had been before). We were quite pleased with the service, food, and atmosphere. The food was delicious. I will go back again and again.
