I rented online through Nu Car rentals and was directed to ACE Miami. The car had many dings but the real problem was the ACE service. I had a guaranteed rate and confirmation for 10 days which I presented when I picked up the car. From the start, the ACE rep was looking for a way to charge me more than my original agreement even though my credit card had already been charged in full when I made the reservation. Additionally, I was charged 80% more than the rental rate for tolls and insurance (which I did not need). The ACE service rep printed the agreement per (what I thought was) my original confirmation. When I returned the car, I was informed that I would be charged for four additional days because he had changed the dates on the contract. Both NuCar and ACE are a scam, the staff is dishonest, surly and dismissive. DO NOT use this company!!
bought and pre paid rental through VIPCARS.COM, picked up at MIA INTL asking to add extras: gps, 2nd driver and fuel. after 10 miles and 10 changes of route was clear that gps was malfunctioning. it took 5 1/2 hrs to get to key west, only by switching off gps and using mobile ph with internet connection at intercontinental rates. when returning our rented car they told us our contract looked like closed, sent to the manager, we were asked to show again licence and cr/card (just in case... we will let you know via email).no communication received. requested more than $1000 on our amex, rejected, waiting for explanations... this was our first and last rent with thrifty. not againThey just asked me to sign a couple of things and leave, again, my credit card and licence… just to be sure, they said, we can’t understand the reason why we can’t find your contract, into the database. They never showed me this. I was in hurry, because, after 40 minutes there, I was missing my flight. I told them I already paid and that I only asked (extras)gps (which had to be changed for a malfunction, in key west, where I arrived using my mobile connection… 50 euros for roaming…), second driver and fuel. They charged me one extra day, but the pick up was after 5,30pm. In fact I was inspected at the immigration (I think a record would be easily foundalble) after 5pm. About the return… I checked in at 6,30 and I’m sure because I was the last to be checked before they close AZ631 flight. Ok. This was my first time with thrifty. Surely, it’s been the last. If they will proove I signed this agreement, I will pay, but believe me. I travel to florida every year since the 80s… I never experienced anything like this. I’m writing detailed reviews on all “socials” for everybody to know what happened
Sadly, it wasn't the first time I was disappointed with This Enterprise; but this experience really was the last straw. The Representative (DERRICK) who dealt with my reservation wasn't knowledgeable on the company policies. This representative assumed my Auto insurance wasn't transferable and added this daily insurance fee to my bill. (NOTE: BEFORE I signed the Rental contract this representative promised me that this insurance fee could be adjusted if it was an error.) When my Auto insurance covered it. Shortly After, I return to the Enterprise to let the representative about my TRANSFERABLE INSURANCE. the representative responds by arguing that the Insurance fee IS NOT adjustable. (NOTE: THIS representative LIED to my father and I, who was with me when I picked up the rental). After, arguing with the Manager (Hector), who was extremely rude. And him being a manager he had no business ethics and customer service skills. He did nothing to help or solve the problem.Things get worse, when the time came to return the rental. First, they still refused to adjust that insurance fee. Second, My mother (who return the rental, who's name the reservation was under [NOTE: after complaining to customer service, I later found out I wasn't even authorized to sign the contract and take the rental myself}) left her personal car keys in the rental, minutes after realizing her error. Still being at the Enterprise, she notifies the Manager (HECTOR). and he disrespectfully told her, they already rented out the car to other customer without: One, Cleaning the car. That she needs to figured it out herself and find her way home. It's sad that you ENTERPRISE as company have these people representing you. You guys lost a customer and by strolling through this reviews, I know I'm not the only one.
Miami airport is not easy to "navigate" long walks - need to take a MIA train to the rental center.. However the rental experience at the Alamo rent a car was very positive.. I selected the "self service" option . .there was a person to help with the check in process .- however- too many options to choose (Insurance , GPS, Serius XM radio, Fuel, Car seats etc.. - this process can be done during the reservation and can be pre-populated from the customer profile .We selected a "happy deal" which mean you are a assigned a row and can pick any car . the "happy deal" can be any car from Compact and up.. but when we rented they only had a couple of compacts and a few pick up trucks to choose from.. Next time we will know to select a car class ( intermediate, full etc.) when we reserve the car.the price was very competitivethe return process was very efficient
I had a great experience at MIA - no lines, the National agent was super friendly, the Emerald Aisle had a very nice SUV, the employee that was there was very friendly and helpful when I asked some details about the car. We had absolutely no problems whatsoever with the vehicle during our 16-day rental. The return was just as good, no waiting time, no hassle - everything was just perfect! Thank you, MIA National!
