Kirksey Charles D DDS & Associates
I am now a person in my early twenties and have recently graduated from college. When I first came to Dr. Kirksey’s Fairfax Family Dental Care office seven years ago I was a mid-adolescent, I was congenitally missing approximately half of my teeth in various places throughout my mouth. My case was very complex. Dr. Kirksey and his staff worked very hard to rebuild my mouth. They were able to replace most of the missing teeth with a combination of orthodontics, implants and crowns. The result was such that no one can tell that I ever had missing teeth. The work has been very durable since my work was completed. I have been very happy with my teeth. It has had a very positive effect on my life. I have a natural confidence when I smile when I am with other people. I have always appreciated what Dr. Kirksey and his office staff were able to do for me. I have continued to be a very satisfied patient and recommend my friends and colleagues to Dr. Kirksey’s Fairfax Family Dental Care office!

Smiles 4 Fairfax has left me with all smiles whenever I finish my appointments. The location is great for me as it is a few minutes from my house which couldn't work out any better. The staff there has gone out of their way to make sure you are most comfortable throughout your entire experience. The waiting room looks like it got an upgrade upon my recent visit and has a classy lunge feel to it equipped with free beverages/coffee, some magazines for reading, and a TV. Once called back, whomever my dental hygienist was always had a smile on their face and made me comfortable prior to my teeth endeavors. Dr. Ngo has been super friendly and down to earth with me since my first visit, as he explained thoroughly and mapped out what my teeth needed. It provided for a trusting relationship as we went forward with my procedures and I have no complaints because my smile is my moneymaker and it was well taken care of.

Drummond, Tanya, DDS
Dr. Tanya Drummond and her staff are first class. She is exceptionally patient and capable with kids. My daughter (early teens) was very timid of going to the dentist, with several procedures required (cavities/fillings). Dr. Drummond talked my daughter through all aspects of the procedures, gaining her trust and confidence through consistent gentle handling and sincere care. I was exceptionally impressed with Dr. Drummond's patience with my "scaredy-cat" daughter...I would recommend her to anyone who "fears" going to the dentist. Dr. Drummond's reception staff is exceptionally professional, competentat and friendly. Overall, BEST experience I've had with a dentist!

Neibauer Dental Care
A wide range of dental and oral treatment available at Neibauer located on city Fairfax Blvd. I went there for my dental treatment and I was impressed with their treatment. I couldn't be happier to see their service includes routine exams and overall comprehensive checkup after getting a treatment. However last time I visited I was examined by a new dentist. I had my cavities filled and he told me that I have to repeat this procedure five more times. I consulted another dentist and he told me everything is fine and no filling needed anymore. I will improve my rating if the management improve their service.

Stephen Donohue
Dr Donohue has been my dentist for many years. In all those years I have never had a single complaint about his dentistry. I have had many fillings and several crowns through the years. Dr Donohue has always provided pain free quality care. I first saw him in the office of Dr. Kannar in Falls Church. I have now followed him to his new location at 8805 Arlington Blvd in Fairfax, VA. He is in the office of Dr. Charles Jelinek. The phone number is 703-560-8700. If you are looking for a gentle dentist with a lot of experience who really cares about his patients call Dr. Stephen Donohue.

Fair Lakes Dental
Ever since I was a kid the dentist and I never got along. My fear continued into my adult years and I needed dental work very badly. I was referred here by my friend Angela who I saw with teeth in much better shape when I first met her. Clearly, the dental office she went to was doing a good job. When I went in for an appointment, everything was explained thoroughly from the insurance, to my treatment plan, and to how they calculated my copay for the day. Ever since, I confidently walk into the office for my next appointment as if I never had a bad childhood experience.

Smiles 4 Fairfax has been by far the best dental experience I've ever had and I highly recommend them. The Smiles 4 Fairfax team genuinely cares about the well-being of your teeth, take ample the time to explain any/all issues, and the solutions/procedures necessary to remedy them. Aside from that, Dr. Ngo and his staff consistently go out of their way to make every patient feel comfortable, welcomed, and a valued. This is by far the best dental care I have ever received. Make an appointment and give Smiles 4 Fairfax a try!

Fair Lakes Dental
Cracking a tooth is unfortunate, painful and inconvenient. Who would have thought it can happen while enjoying a lovely meal. This place came recommended by relatives and I have to say I was NOT disappointed. The place was very clean and modern looking. I like the attention I received from the doctor and how his explanation of everything he was doing was helping me be at ease. Would definitely recommend it especially if you are afraid of dentists. These guys were really helpful, nice and very accomodating.

Fair Lakes Dental
Fair Lakes Dental was very professional, I usually don't look forward to going to the dentist because I don't feel comfortable, but everyone in the office was so nice and very patient, i needed a lot of work because I haven't seen a dentist in many years. Before they started any work on me the front desk came into the room and explained all the costs, and what the insurance would pay and what they wouldn't pay. This is probably the only office that I would ever trust to go to for my dental work!

Ngo, Howard, DDS
I found Smiles 4 Fairfax because it was the closest dentist to my previous employer, but it was one of the best decisions I've ever made. Dr. Ngo has rehabilitated my teeth to the best condition they have been throughout my entire life. We had a few bumps along the road, but the trust I have in him and his team steered my teeth in the right direction. I don't know what condition my teeth would be in, if it had not been for Smiles 4 Fairfax coming into my life. :-)
Tips & Advices
  • If a tooth decays and the nerves or pulp (soft internal tissue which helps teeth develop) become inflamed or infected
  • If a tooth is cracked or broken and nerves are exposed
This generally depends on any specific issues you wish to address with your teeth. There are toothpastes designed to whiten teeth, fight cavities, decrease sensitivity, prevent bad breath, resist gingivitis, and those specific to children (with lower fluoride content). There are also toothpastes that offer “complete” protection by combining aspects of many of the above toothpastes.
It’s recommended to get a professional cleaning at least two times per year.
  • Desensitizing toothpaste numbs the nerves in the teeth that can cause discomfort.
  • Mouth guard can protect against grinding teeth during sleep.
  • Fluoride treatment can be applied by dentists to sensitive areas to numb teeth and strengthen enamel.
  • Root canal can treat problems in a tooth’s core.
  • Surgical gum graft where a piece of gum tissue is removed from a section of the mouth to cover an exposed root.
Not everyone needs to have their wisdom teeth removed, but there are certain signs that can help you and your doctor determine if yours should be:
  • Wisdom teeth are pushing other teeth around, causing pain and misalignment
  • Cysts form around newly emerged wisdom teeth, causing jaw damage
  • Gums get inflamed and swollen, causing cavities and pain
  • Doctor determine from x-rays that wisdom teeth will cause problems in the near future
