Auto Appraise

Recently, I planned to place my collector car on the open market For Sale. I had an idea of the value, which was based on an older appraisal, but was not sure where the market had moved to in recent years. I happened Auto Appraise at a large automotive event and reviewed many examples of their work and also noted that a major Auto Insurance Firm (Hagerty) utilized them for professional appraisal and Insurance work. After speaking with them, I became convinced that Auto Appraise would provide me exactly what I needed in order to properly price my vehicle For Sale.



To this point, Auto Appraise thoroughly inspected, and photographed my vehicle; they also did the market research and with consideration to the numerous upgrades I had put into it. Upon completion of their research and work, Auto Appriase provided me a itemized appraisal report detailing every aspect of the vehicle and the noted condition, concluding with a new appraisal value that exceeded my expectations.



The most important aspect of this appriasal is that I now have a resource (the appraisal) which can be presented to a prospective buyer if needed, where as, the buyer and seller are reassured that each is receiving a fair deal and that from an insurability aspect, the vehicle is properly assessed at the correct value.

I have been in the market for a collector car for about 3 years and like many have been using the internet to help me locate the right car. I finally found what I thought might be my car, yet it was across the country from where I live. I was not comfortable buying a car without looking at it myself or with my local expert. I looked into airfare, hotel, and car rental plus taking vacation time off from work on very short notice. The cost to make these arrangements were ultimately raising the cost of my dream car, not to mention the time it would require and this car might sell in the planning and travel process. I researched my options and conducted phone interviews and obtained quotes for a vehicle inspection. I spoke with Jason Phillips on the phone from Auto Appraise about my situation. Jason convinced me without a doubt based upon his years of experience and specific knowledge of this model of vehicle plus explaining his process of inspecting that he was very qualified. This vehicle was advertised as having the original motor, numbers matching car, so I opted to have Jason inspect that for me as well. Jason called me after his multiple hour inspection and gave me a brief rundown of my pre-purchase, numbers matching inspection. A few days later I received access to the website with over 350 high-resolution photos and his multiple pages written report of his inspection in 11 detailed sections. The engine block pad stamp did had a derivative of the VIN, yet through Jason’s further analysis of the block casting date and engine suffix code, this motor was not offered in this model in addition the date was after the cowl tag build date. Ultimately, with the information and details Auto Appraise provided me, I opted not to purchase this car, yet as stated in their report, a nice example of a desirable muscle car. I had a follow up call with the seller and he informed me that Jason was a very professional inspector and spent much time and detail looking over his car. Even though I did not buy the car, this was money well spent. I have added a new network of expertise to my car collector portfolio that I plan to call again when the need arises, especially for any long distance inspections.

jason and his team are car nuts and they know their stuff.

they contract with excellent appraisers/inpectors all over the country. their appraisers are mechanics, restorers and all round enthusiasts.



each appraiser completes a standardized analysis of each car under review with a rating prescribed for the quality of each aspect of the car. nothing is missed. this report combined with 75+ photos the appraiser takes of the car are sent to auto appraise's centralized location. there, jason analyzes the report and pics, speaks to the inspector and then personally calls you to give you his opinion of the car. the client is able to review the report and photos online.



you are then able to make an informed purchase decision.



i highly recommend these guys to anyone buying a car long distance or locally for that matter.
