Expertise
Professionalism

I have lived around the country and have been lucky to be blessed with great pet hospitals. It disturbs me to read all the negative comments. No one is going to get along with everyone. I was lucky to find Dr. Pittman who has always, always gone over my options and I have NEVER been forced to purchase anything. Remember, our pets can't tell us what is wrong . It is called the practice of medicine for a reason. They are always learning in the medical field. Just as with humans. Before bashing, please remember you make your choices for your pets. If your not comfortable just leave. I myself have had nothing but compassion from anyone there. Also, if you see one doctor try to stay with that doctor unless there is an emergency. They will be better and more comfortable with one doctor as well. I will continue to take my pets there unless something would steer me otherwise.

This place leaves a bad taste in my mouth every time I visit. The first time I visited, the vet tech wanted make me feel like I didn't know anything and that I needed her expertise. She told me that my pup was not what I thought, even though I know the parents.
The second time I visited, they redid my puppy's shots even though I had proof that his shots were up to date.
The third time I visited, I asked them to trim and buff my puppy's nails. They charged me double the competitor's price and only trimmed them, leaving his nails sharp. The point of trimming them is to make them not sharp and painful when he jumps on me.
The fourth and final visit, I took my puppy in because he was throwing up. They charged me $250 and did not find a reason for his illness. The whole time the vet was treating my pup, the vet tech was trying to sell me something else, a year worth of flea and tick, heartworms, flu shots, blood tests, heartworm test, etc. She also tried to scold me for my sick puppy growling at her when she tried to take him.
TLDR: This place costs an arm and leg for mediocre work, and the techs like to talk down to people.

Overall

I took my kitten to this vet for an eye squinting slightly, with a small discolored spot in the corner of her eye, she was given antibiotic eye drops and a steroid shot, under the assumption is was a scratch. Her eye got worse by the next day, was now completely held closed and had gone very red. They said to take her back in. I mentioned that I thought it might be Herpes, since I had been reading about it and it seemed to match what she had, and she had just been sick with Herpes like symptoms a few days before, also the fact she came from a feral colony that had known Herpes carriers added to the possibility.

The vet and assistant literally LAUGHED at me, and told me it was impossible, because she wasn't sneezing right now and both eye weren't infected. She was given more eye drops and more steroids. Her eye got drastically worse. The only good thing is the vet told me to take her to a specialist if it didn't get better, but by that point we had to wait a week to get in to see them. They confirmed that is WAS Herpes, and that the steroid shots and the ingredients in the eye drops were actually helping the Herpes to get worse. By then her whole eye was completely clouded over, and she now had four ulcers and pits, when she only came in with one small ulcer.

As soon as she was given the proper treatment for Herpes her eye began improving, but her eye is now permanently smaller and pitted, which would not have happened if she had been treated correctly in the first place, and my concerns of Herpes had not been laughed away. Also I wasted over $200 for a vet that made the situation worse, and much much more for a specialist, for something that could have been handled easily from the beginning. I'm disabled and have very little money, and a lot of rescues to take care of, I can't afford to waste money on doctors that make the problem worse. If they didn't know what to do the least they could have done was send me to the specialist right away, instead of having me come back in for a second useless visit.
