Orangewood Suites Hotel

The rooms have a full kitchen. The 2 room with the loft sleeps 6 people. Plenty of privacy with a king bed and private full bathroom upstairs and a queen bed with full bathroom downstairs. The buildings are a little dated, but the layout is fantastic. Walking distance to a couple of restaurants and within a couple miles of many other restaurants and attractions. Great value.

Great price / excellent location .

This is a really decent hotel for a great price. I've stayed in the same unit twice and the carpets are new and clean, the bed and bedding are comfortable. The bathroom is small and older but there was plenty of hot water. Having a full kitchen is great. I've also been inside one of the 2 bedroom loft units and the rooms are smaller than in the one bedroom units. There is a decent sized balcony with a chair or two and a small table. Did not use the small pool and have never seen anyone use it even in the heat of the day. They offer a breakfast with hot food - eggs, potatoes, bacon, etc. slightly above what you normally get at a value priced hotel. There is a happy hour with food, one day we had sloppy joes with chips and the next was fish sandwiches with hush puppies. The food isn't spectacular but if you're hungry it's better than nothing. The staff is always friendly and helpful. You cannot beat the price for what you get at Orangewood Suites. It's centrally located right at the intersection of 290 and 35 and you can get to either freeway easily. This is where I stay every time I need a hotel in Austin. It's great!

Came here for brunch with the in laws. Bloody Mary's are a must here! Food was decent and the service was very accommodating. Nice quaint and cozy place to eat. Reservations are highly recommended!! Next adventure here will be for dinner...

This property stands for integrity, honesty and excellence in customer service. Our systems had a glitch and the hotel (Giselle) handled the irregularity with swiftness and professionalism despite me pressuring her. This definitely won our trust. Besides that, the hotel is very cozy, great location and breakfast and very comfortable rooms. Staff friendly and accommodating.

My mother is in a retirement home in North Austin. There are many hotels off I 35 near where she lives. The property I usually stay in was full. (I showed up without a reservation) I drove around the are and found several sketchy properties and a couple of overpriced bigger chains. I drover past Orangewood twice, thinking it was an extended stay/corporate apt. type place. I decided to check them out. I'm glad i did. It appears to be converted from apartments of an extended stay. There are 5 buildings on about 6 units each. No problem parking right in front of the room. My room was a studio type set up with a comfy king bed, full kitchen and full bath. One large combination living room bedroom with a divider that could be closed if you wanted to have a meeting or something. The large flat screen TV was on a swivel mount so it could be viewed from either "room". It was quite and had a free breakfast buffet and happy hour snacks too. I didn't go in for the happy hour, but the menu said it was taco night. The room was clean, the bed comfy. My only complaint was the love seat kind of sticky and in need of a cleaning. I sat on a bath towel. Weekday rate was 85.00 which is in line with where I usually stay and cheaper than the Doubletree across the street.

I recently booked Orangewood Suites for a Business Retreat (November 2014). Was very impressed with facilities, so much so that I intend to use them as an Austin homebase for the upcoming Legislative Session (monthly). The two bedroom suites are the bomb! Upstairs King, downstairs Queen, seperate baths and a divider to close off the downstairs area. Even includes a real working fireplace! Full kitchen, but hot breakfast is on the house and is done really well! Has a Pappadeaux's right next door, and is easy access to 290 and 35. Friendly and helpful staff. Only glitch was a that the hot water in our building gave out before everyone was done, but it was reported and promised to be fixed that same day. You can pay more, but why would you?

I had a large party of 35 people attending the Austin Film Festival and all downtown hotels were completely out of the price range. Orangewood Suites was affordable, had clean and spacious rooms, had great complementary amenities: strong wi-fi everywhere on site(!), laundry on-site, breakfast, happy hour with snacks and a pool with access to people with mobility issues, and all within 10 minutes of downtown via car (15 minutes in traffic). The property is quiet and well maintained but the highlight was the staff. Edalma, Jessica and Monique were wonderful! They met all our various requests for room changes, extensions, group transport and even an impromptu afternoon party in the dining room with professionalism, expediency and a smile. They made our hotel stay at the Orangewood truly excellent and effortless.

We have been staying here for many years when we come to Austin. We always get friendly service nice clean rooms and great meals. Rooms are nice and big you have a kitchen with everything you need. We love it. Its very quiet and there has never been a problem with other guest with noise. They are always willing to help with any of your needs. They have had the same kitchen help for years. I think that is why the breakfast and the evening meals are so good and they make sure you have what you want. All the staff works hard for you to enjoy your stay.

We stayed here during our family vacation to Austin. With a lot of children, the Orangewood offers the ability to have enough room for everyone without the necessity of renting two rooms. The hot breakfast every morning added even more value. The only con was the small parking spaces with our large SUV. Our room was clean, had an apartment-sized kitchen with frige, dishwasher, microwave, stove, oven, dishes & silverware, and full-sized coffee maker. Nice-sized flat screen with swivel mount was great. Our loft had a queen bed & hide-a-bed sofa downstairs, and a king bed upstairs. We will definitely be back on our next visit to the Capitol.

We have stayed at this property on four occasions and have always enjoyed our stays. Haven't experienced any of the difficulties of others and would stay here any time in the future. The hot breakfast has always been great and the evening snack buffet with burgers, chicken, etc on different days is a bonus. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen is a plus. The front desk was friendly and efficient.

They have a top notch guest services team and the rooms are very spacious. I would definitely stay here again.

Stayed here for a night in the 2 bedroom 2 bath loft. Very spacious and clean. Somethings like the fridge were a bit old but everything worked as intended. Booking and check in went smooth and have no complaint. Will be back soon.

I love the feel of the rooms and mini kitchen. The beds are super comfy and the only issue I had was that there was a streetlight facing my room which made it pretty bright at night time. But it is my fault and I should have asked to switch rooms.

This is a great place and the night staff were just wonderful.

I and 3 other friends stayed in the 2 Bed Loft room for 5 weeks and found this place absolutely wonderful and great value for money. Hotel is quiet and rooms are nice , spacious and very clean with TVs in both the rooms. there are big closets in the both the rooms which can take care of luggage in case of long stays. Kitchen has Dish wash, microwave, fridge and cooking plate which is very convenient for those who want to prepare meals. Hot breakfast and evening snacks are complimentary very good. There are plenty of dining options within 1 mile of walking distance. Bus stops are also in walking distance of 0.2 to 0.6 miles. Staff was courteous and very helpful. Over all its a great place for both long and short term stay.
