I couldn't be happier with my move! I spoke to many different moving companies to find one that I felt really comfortable with and felt like I could trust. I had a very bad experience with my last move going cross country so it wasn't easy finding a reliable company... after speaking with the sales rep that helped me for my move to Texas, she answered all of my questions (and I had A LOT of questions and called probably far too many times) and even gave me tips for making the move smoother. The pickup went great, the movers were very efficient and wrapped all my furniture perfectly.. the weight was a bit more than I thought, but I understood it was based on actual weight.. My rep shared all of the details and contacted me again about a week or so later to provide the delivery schedule... when the driver got here, he had to get a smaller truck because the large semi could not fit. He let me know exactly what was going to happen from that point. I did the inventory check while they placed the items in specific rooms and reassembled, it was surprising amazing! Although Seaport was not the cheapest, they definitely had the best customer service and this is the best moving experience. They really exceeded my expectations and I am referring Seaport to everyone I know moving!

We used Seaport for a move from Lincoln City Oregon to Eugene Oregon. I don't write many reviews but moving is such a stressful time and I have to say Britney and her crew did an amazing job. I researched many reviews and did an extensive search over the phone. Britney was professional and answered all of my questions with ease and confidence. SeaPorts estimates were on the total weight of my belongings.. Nothing more. No false promises, no cost estimates that were not discussed up front. The two gentleman that actually moved our home were friendly, efficient and worked hard. They were organized and took great care with our belongings. The guys called and informed me of their arrival time and showed up exactly when promised. No breaks, no stopping, they pushed thru the entire truck in three hours.. I don't give great reviews for just showing up and doing the job, I give great reviews when the job is exceptional.... And that is what SeaPort moving and storage represents. Hopefully, I won't be moving any time soon, but would use this team again and highly recommend them.

I on the other hand, had a wonderful experience working with SeaPort Moving and Storage! I know all problems in this world start with the lack of communication and going in with that attitude, I made sure I did all my research and asked the correct questions. worked with a sales person by the name of Tommy. He did a great job describing how the process works for my long distance move. He went over any extra charges that can be incurred, he also went over the delivery process and their payment structure.Tommy advised me that Seaport has a 21 day guarantee of the arrival of your items to your destination, from the moment you are able to accept your delivery and this was in fact true! I received my belongings within 8 days after I arrived at my new home in Arizona.All in all, I believe this company really tries their best to communicate everything to you. I will highly recommend SeaPort Moving to any of my friends or family.

SeaPort Moving and Storage moved our household from Oregon to Florida. Everything went very smoothly with no problems. Erika was professional in answering all of my questions . She followed through with phone calls and e-mails and kept me apprised of pickup and delivery times. SeaPort's pricing was very competitive and offered a senior discount which we appreciated. The crew who came to pick up our furniture was very considerate and efficient and had everything loaded in no time. The furniture arrived in Florida as promised, even a little earlier than we expected which was a pleasant surprise. The delivery crew was also considerate and efficient and had everything unloaded and put together for us to start unpacking boxes in no time at all. All in all, we rate SeaPort as excellent in all categories. We recommend them highly and wouldn't hesitate to call them again if we are doing another move. We couldn't be happier.

This is a great company to use if you are planning to move. I did a local move with them in Portland about a year ago and the movers were very nice and efficient. I got a really good job offer in Texas so contacted seaport again. The rates were in between but overall competitive. It was hard to make a final decision basing on cost... but they are a good company so I chose them for my upcoming move. I got my delivery a week later.. there were minor damages but I was able to connect with my rep and had to contact the company they work with for the claims.. I needed some help in moving forward with my claim, the office staff helped me with all the extra info I needed to get everything done. I am very happy I decided to go with them for both moves, the movers were good, but the customer service really made it well worth it.

Windy and the Seaport Moving crew truly went the extra mile helping me get a piano from my Mom's house in Southern Oregon up to My second floor condo in Portland (stairs not elevator). The price was very reasonable and the service was tremendous. They were able to get the piano on a truck that was in the region, and have it delivered practically overnight! When their estimated arrival time changed, they were quick to contact me to be sure that I wasn't held up.They spent time making sure my Mom was left with a good situation (moving a couch for her), and tried hard to get the piano around a corner that was just too tight in my condo. There wasn't a scratch on the piano from their work. I can't say that I have treated it as well over the years. Thank you Seaport Moving and Storage!

We had a top-rate experience with this company from beginning to end. Britney booked our move on the phone, and was very clear, polite, responsive and accommodating of our special requests. We hired a 3-man crew (Jonel, Eric & Diego), who showed up on time, with a great, professional attitude. They were flexible and easy to communicate with. They worked fast and efficiently. And they were courteous without being patronizing. They moved a couple of big, heavy pieces up two long, narrow flights of stairs without grumbling or casting any doubts beforehand (like another mover did with our other furniture). I also appreciate the fact that they were willing to help us set up a couple of pieces, and place them in just the right spot. Good guys, good price and a good move. Go with them!

SeaPort team is awesome! I had used them for several local moves in Oregon, but needed a coast to coast move. When I contacted them they were informational, but the most satisfying thing was everything they said they were going to do, they did. There was clear communication from pickup to delivery of household goods and a car. To top it off, I was on time crunch, they had my cross country move completed within 7 days, who does that? These guys! Special thanks to Windy with her great communication, and to Shay, the long distance driver. Your team showed outstanding customer service, even when I had to call the movers back to pickup up the kids bikes. I thank your entire SeaPort team I will never use another moving company

We live in a house with a 1 year old and have a decent amount of stuff which we required help with. The guys from Sea Port Moving and Storage came and gave us a quote and I asked them about various packing options which they helped me out from and I had to choose one of it. They quoted us an offer as 'not to exceed' amount so I would be confident about and the max I would spend . I was happy with the quote and I decided to move forward with it. When the moving day arrived. We've boxed up some stuff, but there was still plenty left to pack. At 8am, four guys showed up and started packing and moving in the drizzle. They kept working and were friendly to us. Nothing broken, nor damaged.. Highly recommend.

Yes, it’s best to empty drawers, wardrobes and chests before a move. Items always get knocked around a bit, and doors can fly open even if they’ve been taped. In fact, more often than not, movers will want to remove the drawers from a dresser--or disassemble the wardrobe to be more space-efficient.
Yes, it is customary to tip movers, but the amount varies widely. For full-service moves, a 5 percent tip is suggested, although, for extra service, some people go up to 10 percent . For small local movers, you can give each mover $10 for a few-hour job, or $20-$40 for jobs that take longer.
A bill of lading is the legal contract for the move. It provides a detailed receipt, in addition to a contract between the client and the mover. It authorizes the mover to transport the goods from one specific point to another, and it outlines the exact scope of services, with cost breakdown for those services. It also provides an itemized list of the inventory, and carrier liability protection for each declared item. Finally, it specifies the payment arrangement. Make sure to go over your itemized list extremely carefully before finalizing the paperwork--and get a copy of the full document. A good mover will go over everything on the bill of lading with the customer.
There are several items that moving companies will not move – those items will be listed on a document as “non-allowables.” These items typically fall in three categories: perishables, sentimental/personal items, and hazardous material. Perishables are food and plants. Sentimental/personal value is up to the client to decide, but usually includes jewelry, medical and dental records, personal paperwork, valuables and collectibles. Hazardous material is the tricky category, since it includes a lot of everyday items found in the garage, garden or kitchen. For example, cleaning liquids and pesticides both are considered non-allowable by many companies. Some go so far as to disallow nail polish and batteries.
A binding estimate means that the moving company cannot charge more than the stated amount, though they can lower the final bill if the scope of the job was smaller than expected. A non-binding moving estimate is more likely to wind up costing more than expected, since the movers can increase their rates for unforeseen variables like stairs, “long carry” and materials.
