Avenue Of Smiles Dental Practice
Even though I was recommended Avenue of Smiles by my coworker, I was still skeptical of the high praise just because I am not a fan of any medical offices. However, once I arrived for an appointment, I was very pleasantly surprised. I was greeted by a very warm staff, the office is very modern with latest technology focused on providing more comfort, less radiation, and better diagnostics. I was seen by the Dr. without wait and was able to get all my questions answered. Dr. Fisher spent as much time with me as I required and I was not rushed. He explained very thoroughly the procedures and did not pressure me at all into any treatment. I decided to have some work done since I was already in the office, and I was amazed how gentle and careful Dr. Fisher is. Dr. Fisher is very knowledgeable, competent, gentle, and really focused on the health of your teeth. I felt that I really was in good hands and had a very pleasant experience at a dental office (to my surprise). I highly recommend it.

Torgersen R Trent DDS
Doc Torgersen has been my Dentist since he took over the business from his Dad many years ago. He goes the extra mile to insure that each visit is pain free. He explains all options and suggests treatments, but the final decision is always mine. I am in the chair on time 90% of the time. I am usually squeezed in when I have an Emergency. His staff is top notch. His offices are always clean and comfortable. In all the years I have been going to Dr. Torgersen, I have never had a bad situation develop over billing. His staff bends over backwards to insure that the Insurance company pays it's fair share of the bill. I recommend Doc Torgersen to anyone looking for a new Dentist.

Dr. Jeannette J Tokuyama, DDS
Dr. Tokuyama has been our dentist for decades, literally. She has several hygienists who work in her office. Dr. T is personable, professional, and very thoughtful. She has trained her staff beautifully as is obvious by the friendliness as well as efficiency for everyone. A postcard and/or phone call to remind me of appointments is always appreciated. She supports the community, too, which is really a plus.

Top Notch Dentist Office! Lisa Popkoff and her staff are friendly, informative, and really have taken good care of me in my past several visits. My appointments have been on time, I have not had to wait. I was especially pleased with how warm, clean and fresh looking the office was. Jin Y. Kim D.D.S. Inc.
I had an implant done here in 2013 and the results are great. My current dentist and hygienist told me that the implant was very well done. Knowing other professionals complimenting on my implant is a good thing, so I would recommend Dr.Kim.

Tips & Advices
  • If a tooth decays and the nerves or pulp (soft internal tissue which helps teeth develop) become inflamed or infected
  • If a tooth is cracked or broken and nerves are exposed
This generally depends on any specific issues you wish to address with your teeth. There are toothpastes designed to whiten teeth, fight cavities, decrease sensitivity, prevent bad breath, resist gingivitis, and those specific to children (with lower fluoride content). There are also toothpastes that offer “complete” protection by combining aspects of many of the above toothpastes.
It’s recommended to get a professional cleaning at least two times per year.
  • Desensitizing toothpaste numbs the nerves in the teeth that can cause discomfort.
  • Mouth guard can protect against grinding teeth during sleep.
  • Fluoride treatment can be applied by dentists to sensitive areas to numb teeth and strengthen enamel.
  • Root canal can treat problems in a tooth’s core.
  • Surgical gum graft where a piece of gum tissue is removed from a section of the mouth to cover an exposed root.
Not everyone needs to have their wisdom teeth removed, but there are certain signs that can help you and your doctor determine if yours should be:
  • Wisdom teeth are pushing other teeth around, causing pain and misalignment
  • Cysts form around newly emerged wisdom teeth, causing jaw damage
  • Gums get inflamed and swollen, causing cavities and pain
  • Doctor determine from x-rays that wisdom teeth will cause problems in the near future
