Before my divorce we always had huge medical expenses because of Special Needs children. I am not complaining about that and tried to pay all of the bills. After my grandson was born to my teenage daughter we could not get any help or response from the hospital. They wanted big payments that we could not afford with all of the other medical expenses we were trying to pay. We made an offer that we could pay and still meet all of our other obligations. Not good enough for the big bad hospital, the started garnishing my wages for so much every month that I could not pay my other obligations, so they started garnishing my wages too. The "Debt Snowball in reverse!"During this time after many years of whateever, I had enough, moved out and filed for divorce. Even though I left enough money in the bank account for half of the next months mortgage, he quit paying the mortgage. He has lived in the home for over a year for free. So I am living somewhere else and my name is on the mortgage headed for foreclosure. Unbeknownst to me, my ex had also stopped paying the credit card bill. I couldn't pay it, my checks were still being garnished! I especially could not pay the full amount due they requested from me when they final found me and let me know how many months had not been paid. I had no other choice but to file for bankruptsy. I wasn't sure where to go but got a coupon in the mail for $0 down with a payment plan. At last someone reasonable. When I made the call I was greeted warmly and had an appointment that fit my schedule right away! I thought it might take weeks.Shelley was so friendly, non judgemental and on my side. I thought I had a new best friend! I got many calls and emails checking up on me and helping me through the process. Shelley even offered to come to the bankruptsy hearing with me on her day off because she knew how upset I had been.Afterwards I still got phone calls and emails while we waited for the bankruptsy to be discharged. Shelly and Ron were awesome!!! My only regret is that I did not use Craig Swapp for my divorce!!! I don't think they would have let me be threatened by my ex's attorney or that they would have let me settle for what I got stuck with.My law firm is Craig Swapp & Associates!

BEST BANKRUPTCY LAWYER IN UTAH!!!! After getting a couple of judgements, my wife & I decided to call around & see if anyone could help us, we had numerous fliers from different lawyers in Utah & Salt Lake Counties after calling a few & getting no wheres. I called Craig Swapp & Associates, the receptionist was very helpful & understanding. She told me she would try to find someone who could call me back that day, after about 30 minutes since I had called, she called me back & said Greg could call me later that day. Greg called & listened to what I was explaining to him & answered all my questions, I got off that call already feeling relieved. After coming up with part of the money, I went to sign the paperwork met Brittany, who was very informed & answered all of my questions with a smile. I took it upon myself to run my wife's signed paperwork back that day & met Shelly who again answered my questions with a smile. I was feeling very relived in this process. After going back to turn in all our information & then the signing day was great. Again constantly informed about the whole process & met Ron Glines, who was helpful & answered more questions. Then came the day for our 341 meeting Ron, met with us before we went in & explained what was gonna happen again. We want to thank Ron, Shelley, Brittany & Greg they are a great group & make you feel like you are their only client, willing to take your calls & answer any questions that you have. I recommend Craig Swapp & Associates to anyone needing help with a bankruptcy. You are treated with respect & dignity. :)

I wanted to write and let you all there at the office know that I really appreciated the work you did for me and my case. Kristal worked with me during my treatment and It was settled back in Mar or April I think.... anyway then I could never get the online site to work for the feedback. So never got to write and let you all know how much I did appreciate you. I had some health problems tho and so while at my mothers went to see my doctor there. I was so afraid that I had brain damage from my head injury, from the accident that didn't show up until that late... I actually had an MRI done and everything came back OK. So I was relived that it was not anything to worry about. I also had severe headaches for about 2 1/2 weeks... they eventually cleared up and the doctor thinks I had a virus or something that caused the bad headaches. altho they were the same kind I had after my accident. So anyway point of story.... I wanted to say Thank you to Kristal Stephensen and everyone at Craig Swapp so much for waiting and making sure all the stuff that may come up from my injury was taken care of and I was OK before moving forward with my case. It can take a long time to be sure, and I know that now. .. even if it took me so long to get the message to you. THANKS!!! Sincerely, Renee

I was referred to Craig Swapp and Associates to help me file a bankruptcy. An acquaintance had used their services and had been very pleased with the help they had received. I had no idea what law firm to use to help me file this rather complicated bankruptcy. After meeting with Ron and Shelley they gave me great advice and guidance as to how to deal with all of the problems I was dealing with. They guided me through all of the rules and procedures and always answered my many questions. Even if I left them a voice mail with my question Shelley would always return my call and help me or guide me as to what I should do. There were a few times that I called with some questions and neither Ron nor Shelley were available but one of the other associates got my file, reviewed my information and was able to give me some advice as to how to proceed. They really went the extra mile.I really appreciated their help and I think they did a great job. I give Shelley 5 stars because of the extra work she had to do for us. I would recommend this law firm to help anyone that has to deal with the possibility of filing a bankruptcy.

Unfortunatly auto accidents happen, and when your out of state your auto has been totaled and you have injuries you look for help. My first call to an Auto Accident Attourney was answered by a young lady (possibly receptionist) who advised me to don't settle for six months and if your still hurting after that call me back!! REALLY. So i did some asking around and the young lady at the tow yard where our auto was impounded recomended Craig Swapp &Associates, i gave them a call and the next day i had an appointment with Derek Sanders who came to our Motorhome where we were staying took all the information regarding the accident and assured us that they were in control and that someone would be in contact with us shortly. Since that October meeting we have been in contact weekly with Venessa Price weather it be e-mails or phone conversation she has pointed us in the right direction, you could say she has been our liaison to all the unknowns. Thank You Venessa and Thank you Craig Swapp for having a brilliant young lady and Go-Getter on board.

I went to Craig Swapp & Associates after my business had closed down. I was being contacted daily by collectors and they wanted me to pay huge amounts of debit that the company had collected. I was told by many of these debit collecting companies that if I didn't pay they were coming after me and my assets and would garnish my wages. I worked with Shelley and Brian at Craig Swapp & Associates to help me file for Bankruptcy and get the whole mess taken care of. Both of them were very professional and new from start to finish how to help me out. I couldn't be happier on how fast and smooth everything was taken care of. I would recommend them to anyone that has to go through bankruptcy.

We were in a desperate situation and faced with bankruptcy and possible foreclosure if something didn't give! We went to Craig Swapp and Associates, met with Shelley Roberts and experienced immediate relief. Shelley was so helpful, kind and caring. She explained the whole bankruptcy process to us, helped us with everything along the way, assured us over and over that we weren't bad people and the law was there for those who ended up in our situation. I was so grateful to just turn everything over to them and know it was professionally and legally handled. Cannot thank Shelley and the whole team enough for the way our case was handled and the dramatic change it has made in our life!

There are so many challenges with an auto accident, especially when the insurance company of the person that hit me is denying that there is coverage. From my inital meeting with Joel to my conversations with Jessica Osborne, who has been assigned my case, I feel as though they are there to make sure that I am taken care of. Phone calls have been returned promptly and my questions thoroughly answered. Jessica has been great. She has called me to fill me in on how the case is proceeding. I can't imaging going through this without them having my back. I would gladly recommend Craig Swapp and Associates to anyone.

I was referred to Ron Glines and Shelley Roberts at Craig Swapp and Associates through a family friend. My financial situation was burying me alive and I knew I needed to get legal help, but I was at a loss as to who I could trust for good counsel. Ron Glines and Shelley Roberts were able to flex around my schedule and walk me and my wife through the bankruptcy process in a way that really satisfied our need. They handled the details and got the information that I was at a loss to obtain. I highly recommend them to anyone who finds a need for legal counsel, and trustworthy advice.
Tips & Advices
When it comes time to choose a lawyer, you should start by searching close to home. If you do have attorneys you are familiar with, ask who they believe would be best for you. After going through personal references - especially from individuals who had similar needs - you should broaden your search through public information resources. You can call your area's attorney referral service or check legal organizations like Martindale-Hubbell. There are other resources available online, such as yellowpages.com. You can check websites for client reviews and other third-party forms of approval.
If you sign documents and you come across a word you don't recognize, or you need help to navigate important employment or real estate paperwork. Also, during times when personal matters intersect with legal proceedings, you might need to have an advocate to prevent your emotions from getting in the way. If you've been accused of a crime or are in a terrible financial situation, you can find an attorney who will work with what you have available.
When you hire a lawyer, you're agreeing to work with someone over a certain period of time. The more forthcoming the lawyer appears to be with individual needs, the better.
  • You need to ask questions about how the attorney will communicate with you and what responsibilities you hold in the relationship.
  • The attorney should let you know the best channel for quick communication and you need to inform him or her when you want updates.
  • You should also ask questions to get to know the attorney as an individual in order to ensure this is a person you can trust. Ask about their legal philosophy and how he or she views the lawyer/client relationship. Ask as how to keep fees down or what daily disruptions you should expect from a long legal battle.
You need to ask about every possible fee that will come up when working with an attorney. You should request a list of all costs in advance so you won't be surprised by additional expenses like overhead. Also determine exactly when you will start being billed. You want to inspect paperwork carefully. If the attorney charges you for his or her experience, you need to make sure he or she will perform tasks personally and not hand it off to an assistant. Find out if the attorney has a flat fee or charges by the hour. Many civil lawyers work on contingency. Make inquiries about how the lawyer plans to provide service for your money and what you can do if you start to feel unsatisfied with his or her performance.
You can ask how many similar cases they have handled and if they have special skills or training that applies specifically to your needs. Lawyers can't mention clients by name, but you should ask for basic details about identical past cases. You should check their office for the appropriate certifications and diplomas. You can also ask how long he or she has practiced law and request information that demonstrates the practice's success. Look for precise details such as percentage of cases settled out of court.
