Carter Parvin S DDS
Dr Carter is an amazingly knowledgeable doctor. She explains everything in easy-to-understand terms. She is also the most compassionate doctor I have ever encountered. I told her about seemingly unrelated symptoms I’ve been dealing with (migraines, teeth clicking, neck and shoulder pain, vision and hearing problems, etc) and she asked to x-ray my jaw. Sure enough, my TM joint is completely worn down, causing all these problems! She can cure the TMJ problems, and halt the damage to my teeth (chipping, thinning) and jaw. Not only that, but she is doing it with Invisalgn (no painful wires) and at a discount! What a fabulous woman – I highly recommend her for her knowledge, compassion, and dedication to her patients

The staff at this practice are excellent! They are all top notch, very pleasant, genuinely personable, very professional and as gentle as is possible in all situations. Dr.Cooley is a top notch orthodontist and very down to earth. He is an exemplary person who does sooooo much to help others and the community. My daughter and I have both been through braces here and I would do it all again if we were to do it over. Anyone who comes to him for help will see that what I am saying is true. We're very happy customers! Thanks to all of you!

I have had nothing but great experiences with Dr. WIlson. she is very caring and gentle. The staff is awesome as well. Well trained and polite. Best choice In town that accepts dentical. Redding is blessed to have somewhere to go for treatment other than western dental. People should feel lucky to have her. And if they don't realize how lucky they are then they deserve Western as there only option. My family and I LOVE Dr. Wilson!

Nilges E Brian DDS
Super clean and friendly office. My friend referred me because I've had poor experiences with dentists in the past. She assured me that the Doctor was kind and gentle and very welcoming and would listen to my needs. Sure enough, he was correct and I even was able to watch a movie during my visit which was a huge help. If you're looking for a caring, kind and gentle office staff, this is the place to go.

I loved my experience at this office! Clean rooms, excellent customer service, and a level of care from the doctor that is second to none! The doctor and the hygienist were both so gentle and I felt I was in good hands when I was there. If you are looking for a new dentist, look no further. He also treats children, and I will definitely be coming back with my family.

Very Good Dentist. Shawn and his staff are all very nice. I am very afraid of needles and out of the 15 years I have been going to him I have never felt a bit of pain. I would have no problem recommending him to anyone. His prices are very affordable to.

Tips & Advices
  • If a tooth decays and the nerves or pulp (soft internal tissue which helps teeth develop) become inflamed or infected
  • If a tooth is cracked or broken and nerves are exposed
This generally depends on any specific issues you wish to address with your teeth. There are toothpastes designed to whiten teeth, fight cavities, decrease sensitivity, prevent bad breath, resist gingivitis, and those specific to children (with lower fluoride content). There are also toothpastes that offer “complete” protection by combining aspects of many of the above toothpastes.
It’s recommended to get a professional cleaning at least two times per year.
  • Desensitizing toothpaste numbs the nerves in the teeth that can cause discomfort.
  • Mouth guard can protect against grinding teeth during sleep.
  • Fluoride treatment can be applied by dentists to sensitive areas to numb teeth and strengthen enamel.
  • Root canal can treat problems in a tooth’s core.
  • Surgical gum graft where a piece of gum tissue is removed from a section of the mouth to cover an exposed root.
Not everyone needs to have their wisdom teeth removed, but there are certain signs that can help you and your doctor determine if yours should be:
  • Wisdom teeth are pushing other teeth around, causing pain and misalignment
  • Cysts form around newly emerged wisdom teeth, causing jaw damage
  • Gums get inflamed and swollen, causing cavities and pain
  • Doctor determine from x-rays that wisdom teeth will cause problems in the near future
