Doug Pyle Plumbing Svc
Doug Pyle Plumbing is a family owned company and they just did excellent work on our Master Bath remodel and I wanted to provide a customer review in appreciation of the quality and professionalism that was shown throughout the length of the project - from the estimation process through to the completion. Each day of the install they showed up on time and were extremely pleasant. They placed protective mats down from the garage door all the way to the master bath on the second floor. They even arrived on time one morning when we had freezing rain that resulted in about 1/10th inch of ice on the roads! We are EXTREMELY happy with the resulting master bathroom!! They also included fixing and repainting our kitchen ceiling in the cost of the estimate...and it looks amazing too! (There was some water damage to the ceiling due to a leaking bathtub in the master bathroom.) One of the reasons I went with Performance Plumbing is because they have been my reliable plumber for the last 5+ years. They are very knowledgeable and do not try to oversell anything...whatever they estimate is what it will cost. Our bathroom is not only functional but it is beautiful and is the envy of everyone I share pictures with. I knew I would get a quality product from this business but they far exceeded my expectations! Their attention to all the small details was exceptional.

Rivers Plumbing Co
I highly recommend using a different plumbing company. They responded very quickly and came out the same day. Those are the only positive things. They tried to charge $906 to add a shut off valve for a dishwasher and installing the dishwasher. The valve they said was $286. When we questioned the charges as he was going to throw in the valve for just the installation price of $906. We questioned the labor and parts and he said its by the book. We called Eric to question the pricing and Walt came back with over $500. We told them installation from Home Depot is only $100 why would we pay them more. I would look into a different plumbing company that can explain their pricing. This job was less than 2 hours of labor and minimal parts.

Rippelmeyer Services Inc
After calling several plumbing companies who did not want to even look at my jet but I called Rippelmeyer at the suggestion of Henry Plumbing off of St. Charles Rock Road. Jeff the owner came out first thing Monday morning and after helping to troubleshoot the issue offered several possible alternatives. We took the least evasive alternative to access the problem and he came up with an innovative approach to solve the problem. Jeff is a professional and truly customer focused. I would highly recommend him for any plumbing, bathtub, since, water heater and especially JET TUB repair.
Tips & Advices
  • Are you licensed and registered?
  • Are you insured and bonded?
  • How many years have you been in business?
  • What, if any, professional associations do you belong to?
  • May I have a list of references?
  • Do you offer a written warranty for your work?
  • Will I need a permit for this work?
It is important to have a written warranty for any work or repairs done to the plumbing in your house, especially if it is a major repair. Look for a professional  who is willing to  stand by his or her work.
Before you hire a plumber, contact their past customers if you're able to. These people can be a wealth of information if you ask them the right questions. Pose the following queries to these former patrons when you get the chance:
  • Were you pleased with the work done?
  • Was the project completed on time?
  • Did the plumber give you a written warranty and guarantee his or her work?
  • Were there any unexpected costs that arose?
  • Would you hire this plumber again? If not, why?
A permit provides added assurance that the work is done correctly. Having this in place means an inspector will check the work your contractor or plumber does to ensure he or she did the job correctly. If you plan on putting your house or commercial building on the market, a real estate agent and prospective buyers will want to check any large work you did to make sure it was done properly.
A trustworthy plumber will have both commercial liability insurance as well as be bonded. The insurance and the bond protects the plumber from paying for any damages made to your house out of pocket. Having professionals that carry both of these policies can protect all of you from any mishaps that could occur while they work on your building.
