Benjamin Franklin Plumbing
*I am writing this two years after the service to illustrate how impressed I am with Benjamin Franklin of Lafayette, IN* Within two weeks of buying my house I noticed my drains were slow and eventually stopped draining all together. I called Benjamin Franklin to check it out. They had to try and snake out my drains from the roof since the previous owners buried the clean out access in the front yard. After fighting with it for a couple of hours with no real progress they ran a camera down the line. They found that the two trees in my front yard had completely consumed the old clay sewage pipe with their roots and the entire length of pipe from my house to the main sewage line in the street had to be replaced. Knowing that I had very little savings left after buying the house, the Benjamin Franklin team offered us a very reasonable estimate for the work. I called around for bids and found Benjamin Franklin to be the cheapest by nearly $1,000. They showed up right on time and started working right away. After a couple of back breaking hours with shovels they realized the pipe they needed to get to was going deeper as it went to the street and their shovels were not going to cut it. They called in a subcontractor with a backhoe, at no extra cost to me, and continued working. By the time they had gotten to the street hookup they were 10 feet underground and had to tunnel under a huge silver maple tree. They worked non-stop for approx. 14 hours without even taking a lunch break. They got it all done in one day and allowed my wife, two infants, and myself to actually live in the house we just bought. I have never seen their level of professionalism, dedication, and integrity in any service I have ever received. I whole heartedly recommend Benjamin Franklin of Lafayette, IN.

Benjamin Franklin Plumbing
We are a small office and had a water heater go out mid winter. Not like we used it for showers, but definitely pleasant washing your hands with ICE COLD water. They came out same day to inspect or repair, advised us that it was beyond repair. Due to the limited space we had for a replacement water heater, they gave us a couple options and had a new one installed the next day. Very professional, courteous. Would definitely recommend you give them a call for your plumbing needs.

Schomers Plumbing Heating & Air Conditioning
I have used Schomers for both HVAC and Plumbing services and they provided professional and timely work. They installed a water softener, outside water faucet along with HVAC annual service. I would recommend them to anyone.
Tips & Advices
If you're having hot water issues, you can examine the thermostat and adjust it accordingly. If you hear odd sounds coming from your water heater, it could be due to sediment building up. To get rid of this, make sure you clean out the heater every few months. However, if you hear a boiling noise, it could mean the heater is overheating and you should call a plumbing professional as soon as possible.
Frozen pipes are hazardous and can cause massive amounts of damage to your home. To prevent your pipes from freezing during the winter, run your faucets at a trickle and keep your house's heater at 55 degrees Fahrenheit or above to keep the water flowing.
  • Be mindful of how much water you use in your bathroom, kitchen and even outdoors when watering your lawn.
  • Make sure your toilet handle works properly and doesn't stick.
  • Replace old shower heads with more efficient low-flow options that can cut down on the gallons of water you use each morning.
  • Turning off the water while you brush your teeth
  • Only running your dishwasher or clothes washer when you have a full load.
Yes. If you're interested in buying a new home or property, it's smart to hire a contractor or a plumbing service to not only tell you if the building's foundation is sound, but also if the pipes are in good working order.
  • Don't use your toilet or kitchen sink like a trash can by stuffing hard to flush material down the drain or pouring fats and oils down the pipe.
  • Throw coffee grounds and eggshells in the garbage instead of in your sink.
  • Only use your toilet to flush human waste and toilet paper
