Sal's Landscape & Tree Service (RECOMMENDED)
I just used Sal's to remove a huge ash tree in our front yard. I spoke to Sal yesterday and his crew was out first thing this morning and had been working hard on it all day. I'm very pleased with the job they've done and the price they charged. I will definitely call them again when I need tree service and highly recommend them to anyone needing this type of work.

Sal's Landscape & Tree Service (RECOMMENDED)
Today was the second time we’ve used Sal’s tree services and we are extremely pleased once again. The team is friendly, skilled and efficient. They ground a tree stump today and even shoveled the sawdust onto our garden for us. Final cleanup was so complete no one could tell they'd been here for a few hours. VERY PLEASED WITH SAL AND HIS TEAM.

Sal's Landscape & Tree Service (RECOMMENDED)
I just had Sal's crew out for two days trimming LOTS of trees, cutting my hedges, cleaning out my beds and laying mulch. This service in general is not cheap...and you get what you pay for. Sal had a big crew out and lots of nice equipment. When they finished, I literally said, "That was so worth it!" They canopied and opened up my trees so much -- it shows off my house, my grass will grow better, it's cleaner. My hedges were so overgrown and now they're trimmed and the beds are ready for flowers. They don't leave any trace of being there -- my property was completely clean of debris, branches and leaves. Sal's responsiveness from the first time I called him, to coming out for an estimate, following up, and his attention to detail with his crew's work, really demonstrate that he truly cares about customer service, his reputation and doing good work. I highly recommend them.

Sal's Landscape & Tree Service (RECOMMENDED)
Sal's crew spent two days removing, trimming and stump grinding on our property. Sal is always very professional. His crew has good work ethic and the cleanup is awesome. Many of his crew have been with him for years, which says a lot in my opinion; that he treats his employees good. Prices are very competitive.

Sal's crew did a great job removing 2 trees in my back yard. When they were done the yard looked great - no more big roots or china berries all over. Very happy with their work.

Sal's Landscape & Tree Service (RECOMMENDED)
I'm very pleased with the work performed at my home. I had a sick pine tree extending well beyond my two story home that needed to come down. They came out the same day I called for a quote and were there the next morning cutting the tree, which included grinding the stump & hauling away. They even trimmed my two other trees to give them some shape and removed the yard leafs, which was great, considering we're in fall season. Nelson Ruiz was the salesman, but he himself helped the crew. Excellent job!

JL Tree Services
I've known Jose for a while ever since he worked on my first tree trimming. Since I've used his company for my rental properties too. Good guy and runs a tight ship.

JL Tree Services
I selected JL tree service to remove a tree from my yard. They quoted their price and we agreed on the price, date and time to execute the project. JL Tree Service showed up 2 hours late. Upon arrival the workers claimed they did not have the proper equipment to perform the tree removal project. I requested to speak to the owner (Jose). The owner provided a plethora of excuses why they were unable to perform. Excuses were related to JL Tree Services incompetence and shady business practices. After going back and forth on their failure to perfirm, the owner hung up the phone. I DO NOT ENDORSE or WILL NOT RECOMMEND this company in any way, shape, form or fashion. I will never use or recommend them for any type of work. The owner is the worse business person I have ever dealt with. JL Tree services breached their contract on the day of the project due to their inability to properly estimate the work and failure to properly assess the site. *STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY*
Tips & Advices
Do your due diligence and always ask for proof of insurance and certification before agreeing to any work. You will also want to be on the lookout for telltale signs of scams and be cautious of any company that:
  • Will not provide you with a certificate of their insurance policy or only has general liability coverage
  • Declines to give you a written estimate for the job
  • Gives you bids that either seem very low or very high
  • Contacted you out of the blue to see if you needed their services
  • Has complaints against it from business bureaus in your area
  • Asks for payment before starting work
  • Doesn't have a fixed physical address
Tree service companies are also great places to get your wood if you happen to have a fireplace. Many tree businesses offer free delivery and stacking of hardwoods, such as maple or birch. These can make for the best firewood because they burn slowly and don't produce as much smoke as other types.
If you want to add to the greenery in your yard but you're concerned about the right species to plant or where to put it on your property, seek the advice of an arborist.
If a storm hits and damages your residence, a tree service professional is usually on your list of people to call for help after first responders and your insurer. A professional service can completely remove a tree or just prune and saw off its branches if a storm damages a tree. After sawing or destroying the tree, professionals can then remove any of the dangerous debris from your yard by hauling it off.
Some bugs burrow through the bark and damage hardwood and softwood trees. Depending on the species of trees in your yard and the region of the country you live in, aphids, the infamous emerald ash borer or other pests could destroy your healthy trees.
