Flower Market Florist
I called the Flower Market Florist on the 28th and asked for a delivery of flowers on the 30th. I was charged a delivery fee for the delivery, So I expect the delivery to arrive on the day I requested. Not when they want to do it or when convenient for them. Not the case here.. I find out that they arrived a day early before her Birthday. She called to Thank me and let me know that I got her Birthday wrong again. I was like what NO I didnt. When I called to address this issue I was giving well she gets an extra day to enjoy them and she might have on out on her birthday and not been home.. Not the point I PAID for a delivery and I wanted them on her Birthday. The paperwork was all correct but nobody noticed the date requested for delivery because they were so busy. More excuses for their mess up. Sorry I am a customer that wants what I paid for and don't think I should have to pay a delivery charge when they can't follow the delivery request.

Flower Market Florist
I just called the Flower Market Florist in Clearwater FL and was shocked that someone answered because it was 5:45pm on Saturday. So they took my order even though they were closed for the day and arranged to have it delivered today even though they were closed. I ask if they knew my friends that own Pet Safari in Clearwater and they did, I explained my friend had to have emergency surgery today and I really wanted to get her flowers. And my prayers were answered. Jean was very nice and helpful, and the owner Darleen is the one that knew my Friends and made it happen. Thanks so much!!! Melissa & Robert

The Garden Shed Florist
Ordered flowers for Valentines day that were never delivered. Called/emailed several times to request what time they would be delivered and did not get a response (they have their answering machine answer all calls on Valentines day apparently). Called today, day after valentines, and someone actually answered. All I said was, 'HI, I'm calling about an order that wasn't delivered yesterday to make sure I wasn't charged'. The man replied 'no you weren't charged'. After another exchange it became apparent he HAD heard my messages and knew exactly who I was when I called. He did NOT apologize, offer an explanation simply stated I wasn't charged. Thanks for ruining my wife's valentines day as she was the only one at her work to not receive flowers! Beyond the quality of the flowers - which I cannot comment on because they were never delivered - a florist's main responsibility - especially on Valentines day - is to be dependable. When they aren't, it seems like a reasonable expectation that an apology or explanation would be given. Based on my experience with Garden Shed Florist, I have to assume it is being managed/run by incompetent, unthoughtful, and miserable people. Too bad you cannot rate zero stars.
Tips & Advices
Making the trip to your local florist means you can actually get the chance to stop and smell the roses. But the hours they are open can be more restrictive.
Online flower shops, work with wholesale florists near your area to ensure they deliver your order promptly. Since cut flowers don't have a long shelf life, these Internet-based companies take your request and contract it out to a florist in your locale to design it and drop it off at your home or office. While purchasing flowers online is convenient - there are a few things the online stores cannot offer patrons. You can't smell the fragrance of flowers and you can't touch the petals or leaves before you buy the plant. Additionally, when you buy a bouquet over the Internet, you're basing your decision on a stock photo of the item instead of the actual one that will arrive at your doorstep.
Yes. These experts can tell you the best ways to take care of your plants or how to properly cut the stems of flowers to ensure they last longer in your vase. Ask them vase to use with which flower and how much water and plant food you should use to prolong the life of your bouquet or potted plant. Even though retail florists don't usually grow the blooms or plants themselves, they do know the best ways to keep your arrangement looking fresh for longer.
Flowers, especially the lotus, figure prominently in Hindu and Buddhist religious ceremonies, as well as in these two ancient religions' wedding customs. Many florists provide garlands of flowers to decorate and festoon the functions with.
Lilies, as well as daffodils and tulips, are especially popular around these spring holidays.
