It is just wonderful to have such good food in a neighbor bistro. It is a bit loud, my only complaint, so I that bothers you, eat outside on nice days, or try to hit the off hours:late or early lunch. I shouldn't have started with the negative though, because the food is so good. Anything cooked on the grill is particularly good: cavalfiore (brussel sprouts) is excellent as is the rapini. The pizza is very good. I haven't had anything that isn't good. You can eat here economically if you don't drink, and it really rivals nearby healthy fast food where you don't have wait staff or real silverware. It is a gem in North Boulder

We use the Flagstaff for special occasions, and we're never disappointed. I AM concerned though about the lack of responsibility of serving veal and foie gras. Perhaps the Flagstaff could state on their menu (as many local restaurants do) which farms they are serving from that can prove the good treatment of their animals. Would this be acceptable to writer F Litt? Thanks Flagstaff for the excellent quality and care you have shown your diners and we will be returning for our next celebration!!! Love you!

A friend of mine took me to southern sun, and at first I was skeptical. Turns out the beer is awesome, and they have a great selection of it. The vegetarian Nachos are amazing and I drive about 45 minutes every other week to get them. This is a great place with a cool atmosphere.\r \r Pros: Food, beer, music\r Cons: Crowded, location

The first time I ate at Tangerine's I was truly delighted with the whole experience. \r \r I had tried to get in once before, but there was a crowd waiting outside and an hour wait, so I left. However I was luckier on my second try and managed to get a table immediately. I had the Polenta and Romesco poached eggs, which was very different and truly delicious. \r \r I had never had Romesco sauce before and now am a fan. My friend had the Asparagus and Mushroom poached eggs and I tasted some and found it to be just as yummy.\r \r I will definitely be back soon. Can't wait to taste the other food on their brunch menu. I just hope there isn't a long line for a table next time.\r \r
12.Mustard's Last Stand
I was born in Boulder. As a child in the 80's, my parents took me to Mustard's A LOT. I always loved it. After moving away from Boulder and after getting my driver's license, my friends and I would drive down to Boulder, eat at Mustard's and go hang out on Pearl Street or The Hill. Now in my late 20's and living in Denver, I discovered a few years ago that there is another Mustard's on University & Evans. BOTH locations have never disappointed me. I still order the same thing I ordered when I was a kid, cheddar dog with a pickle, some cheese fries & a coke. Simple, yet always pleasing. Both Mustard's locations are deserving of 5 stars, but a walk in, order at the counter hot dog stand does not count as a 5 star restaurant in my opinion. This is the ONLY reason I did not give Mustard's a 5 star rating.

Murphy's has been serving Boulder since 1984! The original Murphy's in North Boulder was started in 1984. Since then we have worked hard to keep ahead of the times without losing that comfortable neighborhood feel that is so pleasant. We're happy to have you join us whether it be in South Boulder, North Boulder, or our Louisville, CO Tap House. Murphy's does a contemporary take on American cuisine. We mix old favorites like meatloaf and make it with Bison and top it with mushroom-shallot gravy. Our bar has all of the best beers from around the world as well as great local craft beers. Our drinks harken back to the golden days of well made cocktails like the Old Fashioned. We aim for you to be comfortable whether you are a new-born or shall we say slightly older. Our goal is to be the best neighborhood restaurant you could hope for!

Stopped here a few weeks ago and purchased a brisket sandwich. Would have to say that was one of the best BBQ brisket sandwiches I have had in a while. Very juicy and flavorable. Have to take my wife back next time. Bob

ok so irish pubs are my life. i would go to one everyday before i moved back to america, sometimes multiple times a day. irish pubs are known for being a place to go and feel as if you are still at home. cozy, friendly, great times. they have snake bites which are the best drinks EVER. they are half lager half cider and then a dash of black current juice. they are illegal in most pubs in england. plus their cider is not the cheap kind, its strongbow, the #1 primo cider. if you want to have a really super fun night out go here. there are even live bands sometimes and you can dance your little heart out. people do. its great. really good food too.

I love Carelli's. My boyfriend and I have eaten here on several occasions (both on holidays and just because). Regardless of the time, our service was always superb. The atmosphere is wonderful with jazzy music playing in the background. As a vegetarian, I'm usually a little disappointed at how little there is on the menu that I can eat, but there were quite a few options. The Eggplant Parmesan is a real treat. I highly recommend this great restaurant.

This is one of the best restaurants in Boulder but the line is usually out the door. They have Italian, Greek, and Spanish food which gives you a taste of everything. I'd recommend it if you can find a spot!

Can't describe the food. I tried almost all food from Chicken Tikka Masala to Lamb Chilli. I haven't seen anything like that. Good Indian food and price under $9.00 can't beat it. You have to check it out to experience your shelf. Time is perfect about 10 min. Only problem is in food court so some time you can't find spot for sitting.

Based on its long standing success and excellent reputation, I expected The Boulder Cork to excel in delivering classic steakhouse cuisine in an upscale environment. The traditional decor and the attentive and knowledgeable staff certainly enhanced this impression. And I already knew about the award winning wine list. What I did not expect was the level of sophistication and thoughtfulness the kitchen put into its preparations. The chef's passion for fresh, natural ingredients and culinary details were evident causing our meal to far transcend the typical, upscale steakhouse experience. It was simply the best steak I can remember putting in my mouth including recent offerings at far more expensive locales. And the fresh seafood, local farm vegetables and generous desserts were also prepared to perfection. Bravo!

The Spanish food, especially the Paella and the specials are better than anywhere else in town, honestly. It's pretty affordable considering the quality too. Music at Dagabi is quiet enough to actually have a conversation without yelling, which is nice. The people are friendly and the inside is cool. Really great place! Locally owned too! This is the kind of place we need to keep alive!

Jax is great and probably the best place to grab seafood in the state. It's a bit small and alot more casual than I pictured but the food was amazing and full of flavor. They have an excellent wait staff and happy hour specials.

Pasta Jay's is my absolute favorite! They use a ton of garlic, and everything I have had has been delicious. The location and atmosphere are great, especially when the windows are open. My best friend and I come here everytime I come to town, and I have never found another Italian restaraunt I like better. It is slightly annoying to pay an ""extra bread charge"" when you are already paying $6 for a dinner salad, but that is really my only complaint.

A friend from Hawaii visited and gave me a gift certificate to this ""incredible"" Boulder restaurant they discovered on the Pearl Street Mall (silly tourists!) Out of jaded curiosity I went, expecting your basic Boulder experience - decent food, but nothing to get excited about. Wow! I've been back a number of times for meals that always feature explosions of flavor, the freshest of ingredients, and amazing drinks. I've given out at least half a dozen gift certificates to friends. If you want to wake up tastebuds dulled by standard restaurant fare, this is the place to go. Five stars!!!

We went to Antica Roma tonight for the first time. Did not have any expectations but liked the simplicity of the kids menu before we arrived. Much to our surprise...we have one of the best dining experiences we have had in Boulder in 15 years. I have to start with the service...unbelievable. We arrived early so we had the choice of tables and my kids picked the table by the fountain. I was a little nervous as I know anything can be a distraction and we were hoping to enjoy our meal. To my surprise we sat down, the server actually invited my children over to the fountain, gave them each a coin, and taught them how to turn around, make a wish, and toss in the coin. Who does that? this was after she quickly took our drink order, spoke directly to my kids, and offered them the best hot chocolate we have tasted in a long time. she made sure it wasn't too hot and gave them the option to eat the whip cream with a spoon or put the kid friendly lid on it and drink with a straw. Luckily it was a slightly too hot for them and we could save it for after dinner. The kids meals arrived super fast..and they loved them. We have a hard time finding food they will eat out...and again to my surprise...they LOVED their food. Especially the pizza. In the meantime our server organized our apps & dinner to perfectly sinc with our wine and the kids fast frenzy. When the kids were done eating the host brought over crayons and coloring pages (even split the crayons up for the kids) so we could finish our meals. Who does that? With just a sip left in our wine, she offered us dessert and the kids loved the gelato. who new...super smooth gelato with whip cream and strawberries kept them happy another 15 minutes. Truly a lovely experience...and truly unexpected. We will go back again and again. I could go on and on...the carpaccio was amazing, the sausage/gnocci (sp?) special was fabulous, the margherita pizza to die for. All the while the service was soooo above my expectations I truly can not comment enough. Fabulous presentation. A must. Enjoy!

I heard a few people talking about akiyama in gunbarrel and decided to give it a try. it was hard to decide what to order - their list of special rolls all sounded good. i decided on a spicy salmon tempura roll with asparagus and chef sauce. i also got the king crab narutto which had hunks of fresh king crab wrapped with avocado and tobiko, in a light cucumber wrap. they were presented so beautifully but most important - the combination was delicious and fresh. oh - and i got the agedashi tofu which was by light, crisp and just the right size pieces - the best version of this dish i've had anywhere. also tried a cold sake at the recommendation of the waiter - wow! i left full and happy and will definitely go back.

Since Centro introduced breakfast a few months ago it has quickly grown as my wife's and my favorite weekend brunch (close second to Jill's Sunday brunch at the St Julian). If you haven't been there, wait until a warm weekend morning and grab an outdoor table! Watch out as when they say some of the spices are hot, they really are!
