YP - The Real Yellow PagesSM - helps you find the right local businesses to meet your specific needs. Search results are sorted by a combination of factors to give you a set of choices in response to your search criteria. These factors are similar to those you might use to determine which business to select from a local Yellow Pages directory, including proximity to where you are searching, expertise in the specific services or products you need, and comprehensive business information to help evaluate a business's suitability for you. “Preferred” listings, or those with featured website buttons, indicate YP advertisers who directly provide information about their businesses to help consumers make more informed buying decisions. YP advertisers receive higher placement in the default ordering of search results and may appear in sponsored listings on the top, side, or bottom of the search results page.

Beta Lounge is on a quiet block of Durant, just a couple of blocks below campus. The ambiance is kind of loft-ish and kind of city without being over the top. Their happy hour runs till 9pm which is great. The cocktails are wine - based, they have a few microbrews on tap, and overall it's a great spot to stop for a drink (maybe on your way to BART or a show at Zellerbach) and catch up with friends.

This bar is great reminds me of home. Very cheap and reasonable and great atmosphere. Friend showed it to me. Not very big inside but back area is comfy and open with picnic tables and a back bar. I would recommend it to anyone.

This is a great little dive. An excellent juke (and sometimes DJs to keep ya going), a pool table, a couple pinball machines and darts to keep you entertained if your friends won't. Plus, there is usually a cheesy movie going on the TV. They don't serve food, but Lane Splitters is just a few doors down. One of the last smoker-friendly bars in Berkeley. This one is a gem!
4.The Albatross Pub

I really enjoy this little bar. It is chock full of fun things to do. I love being able to go check out a board game and sit and relax with my friends.

The Temple bar offers an extrodinary dining experience for a very reasonable price. They have an amazing selection the best cocktails I have ever had. Serving up a range of tasty authentic Hawaiian specialties. I have tried everything on their menu and even had them cater a party. I could not find any dish that was anything less than exceptional.

I am from the East coast, and my alma mater is Syracuse University (Go ORANGE!) I stopped into Triple Rock to grab a burger, and catch the NIT on their flat screen tv's. To my surprise the menu at Triple Rock offered Buffalo Wings which tasted just like the wings I used to eat back home. The bar was celebrating a 21 year anniversary as well, and the 'Cuse got a win against South Alabama. All & all it was the perfect pub experience, and I will be going back for many days during MARCH MADNESS!
25.Becketts of Berkeley
2271 Shattuck Ave
A real surprise in Berkeley - an outstanding, handcrafted pub with good food, relaxing atmosphere, and freindly staff. Reasonable prices. Occasional live music. Not open late enough, like everything else in Berkeley. All the right stuff for a classic - cozy and unpretentious. Go upstairs and check out the cool painted ceiling. Great apple pie, and vanilla ice cream with actual vanilla bean in it!

I have been to Kc a lot of times, and the ribs are excellent every time. The brisket and links are good but the ribs are amazing, great sauce. The service is very good, way better than everetts, and their food is better and portions are bigger. Not the best neighborhood, but the food is well worth dodging bullets for.

This is my favorite restaurant in the east bay. Period. I love the (pork) carnitas tostaditas, and the duck tacos and the sherry-vinegar sauteed broccoli and the drinks. The drinks are the best here- everything fresh everyday for every drink... truly gourmet cocktails, and very very cheap at happy hour in the afternoon and after 9pm too! My favorite place to relax with a light bit of food and killer drink or cask-aged rum (plus a huge, comprehensive tequila list!)...yum yum yum....

In reading some of the negative reviews of Venus, I can understand how bad service can taint an experience. But, I must say I haven't had any bad experiences at Venus. Every time I've gone, I've gotten great service and the food has been beyond terrific. It's a really cute place for a date! I would hate to go there when it's busy, though...(which means I don't go on the weekends.)

My family and I ate here the other night and I just wanted to say that it was so much fun! We had made a reservation on friday and got seated about 10 minutes after our reservation was made. All the servers there were wearing kimonos which was pretty cool/traditional, our server in particular gave us great service also. Our chef was very skilled and funny at the same time. all in all would definitely go here again! especially for a birthday since mine was free =)

I am from So CA who came to visit a friend of mine in Berkeley. With so many choices for lunch, we decided on Henry's. Both my friend and I have never eaten here. We learned that the place was just renovated and the chef is brand new. They've also changed their name to Henry's instead of Henry's Publick House. I don't blame them.\r \r I liked the fact that you have a choice where to sit depending on your mood. The bigger room is of course the sports bar with new flat-panel TVs, bar and stools. The smaller room is a sunny room looking out into the street. The decor is elegant but not stiffling. There are some quirky touches such as a faux p0t leaf. After all, we're in Berkeley, right? Not to stereotype (ok, i will), but I can see how students would go the bar and the professors and grad students would go to the other room. Or vice-versa. Again, depending on one's mood.\r \r We liked the food we ordered. My favorite was the S&G frites (Simon & Garfunkel fries, since it contains parsley, rosemary, sage and thyme..one of S&G's album names, for those too young to know). I would probably go back there and order those fries to-go everyday during the last days before going back to LA! The salad with the salmon was refreshing. The best part of course was the toffee dessert!\r \r Since I am allergic to alcohol, I didn't order any but my friend did. She loved it although I didn't catch the name of the mixed drink. The only thing that I thought was odd was the shape of their capuccino cup. I am used to the swim-in-the-cup types. Theirs was a slender coffee cup half-filled with the espresso drink.\r \r All in all, I enjoyed this restaurant. I felt like I could go Henry's and be rowdy and have fun with friends at the bar, or at other days have a nice brunch or lunch and eat at the sunny room by myself without feeling awkward. I guess that's what really clinched the 5 stars for me. Heck, I liked it so much I'll post another review on Yelp.
