Bars in Austin, TX
1600 W 5th St
I see there are a couple of reviews here complaining about the service. I'm sorry, but the staff here is THE BEST! I have been going to Donn's for about 5 years now, and they have always treated me like family. If you are looking for a place with great music, a great atmosphere, and a great staff-look no further. The 1st time I went, there was a couple celebrating their 40th anniversary dancing next to a couple in their 20's with body piercings and tattoos. Such a wonderful range of diversity that's keeping Austin weird!
6800 Burnet Rd Ste 3
Very clean shop, friendly employees, awesome flavors. This is what I come to expect from all future vape shops I visit.
3.Spinners Bar & Grill
14106 N Interstate 35
Was hungry and called in an order for takeout. Sent my son to pick up the order and bring home. We were curious and hopeful the food was good and plentiful since this was our first time to try Spinners. Well....AWESOME! The portions were large and very very tasty. Will do Spinners many more times!
1901 S Lamar Blvd
Very cool place - Outside Deck, Music, TVs, and a Great Vibe.
404 E 6th St
Atmosphere is great. Can't wait to go back and eat one of there amazing burgers!
306 E 6th St
This really is an awesome bar and hangout spot right on 6th! I frequent this place often, and always have a fun time.
7.The Saxon Pub
1320 S Lamar Blvd
What a laid back live music venue should be. Always a good, personal feel to every show, friendly, welcoming staff (and other patrons). Not a plastic trendy bar, just a great place to kick back. The people are there to enjoy the music, not see and be seen (or use their cellphones). Also, good beer selection for about any taste. We've been going for several years, and have always had a good time.
8.Twin Peaks Restaurant
701 E Stassney Ln
I had recently vistited Twin Peaks for the first time. It's a newer restaurant, and I wanted to try something new. I had walked in, and there was about 10 customers and about seven or eight waitresses. The host never greeted my girlfriend and I, she just asked ""Table for Two?."" After we were seated, we had been looking thru the sparse menu for about 10 minutes. In that time frame, no one had even provided us w/ a glass of water. So, we decided to leave. As we walked out the door, the hostess was chatting w/ a couple of the waitresses and as we walked by, they paused briefly, and continued to chatter while we had walked out the door. If I could, I would give the ""Twin Peaks"" zero stars for their extreme lack of customer service.

9.Riata Bar & Grill
12221 Riata Trace Pkwy Ste 100
I have no significant complaints about this venue. My wife was watching the way the bartender was cleaning the glasses and thought the method wasn't thorough enough, but that's how my wife is. Anyway, she's just a guest and not an Austin MLB member, so she doesn't get a vote. The only other concern I have is about what a manager at Riata told me a couple of days before World Series Game 1. With a scheduled game start of 18:57 and scheduled bar closing of 00:00, I asked what would happen in the unlikely event that the game was still going at 00:00. He cited ""TABC law"", claiming that it requires that all customers be out by 00:10. I checked with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission and there is no such requirement. ""...In Travis County, if those establishments do not have a Late Hours Permit or License they can sell/serve/deliver Alcoholic Beverages to customers up until [00:00]..."" In other words, let the people who filled the bar stay without drinking until the event is over. The bottom line is this. If you want the best possible Major League Baseball-viewing experience in Austin, join Austin MLB. (Citysearch doesn't allow a URL, so use your favorite search engine with the following keywords: Austin MLB meetup) With our numbers, bar and restaurant owners are on their best behavior when Austin MLB schedules an event.
10.Shining Moon Saloon
13125 Pond Springs Rd Ste 104
Shining Moon is an enigma. The owner makes great burgers and egg rolls, and the clientel never changes - I swear these people live in the place. It's a beer bar (beer/wine/setups), and don't go there expecting a suave and debonnair evening. But if you want to have a fun time chatting with locals, this is it.
11.The Ginger Man
304 W 4th St
This is by far my favorite pub in town. No pretenses. Its refreshing to not have to deal with servers. With serves I always feel cheap when they walk around and I don't order anything new and have only had about 2 sips from my beer. The bartenders can be hit-or-miss on friendliness. On my 21st birthday, amazing and friendly staff super willing to tell their favorites and let me try them. On my friend's 21st birthday, the bartender was obviously annoyed when we asked for recommendations. The boy had never had never gone past Bud lite before though, so even I was a bit impatient. The beer is what makes this place. I'm happy with a Bass, but I love trying new things and at 4.50 a pint, mmmm. Imports aren't always the best buys here either. They have lots of hidden secrets behind their bar. I can't complain about anything, mostly because it doesn't falsely advertise anything. In fact, does it actively advertise anything or to anyone at all? And on a strange note: I love the huge Bavarian flag hanging at the back.
417 E 6th St
My friend and I go to Touche almost every weekend, we've never once been disappointed. Very nice place to relax and have a few. or more drinks.
3116 S Congress Ave
6148 W Highway 290
I LOVE GOING HERE SINCE ITS SO DOWN HOME ATTITUDE, GOOD PEOPLE AND ALLOT OF FRIENDLY NEW FACES, EVERYONE SEEMS TO KNOW EVERYONE AND INCLUDES NEW COMERS. I WILL DEFINETELY GO BACK, ALLOT, ALLOT OF FUN, GOOD DRINK PRICES AND GOOD PLACE JUST TO HANG OUT.
15.Hyde Park Bar & Grill
4206 Duval St
Gotta love Hyde Park Bar & Grill! It's such an Austin favorite. I love the fries... but who doesn't? YUM! I love that in addition to their comfort food like chicken fried steak and hamburgers, they also have a delicious grilled chicken breast with oh-so-good mushroom sauce on it that feels like a healthy alternative. The service is great as well! The last time I was there the man taking the names for the wait list was soooo nice and he even remembered mine and my date's name when we were leaving and thanked us for coming and asked us to come again... Believe me I will!

I am a straight white girl, who LOVES Latino Night at RCC. I don't even know where to start, I guess I'll start with the fact, I always go with my best-friend, Victor, whom rocks my latino night world!!! Ok anyway, the door guy Daniel is awesome! Always up for jokes and chit chatting, the bartender's Sam; wears this awesome neon thong that he will show you on demand. Jamie is awesome too, he has never been a drag queen, just a ""man in a dress."" And Angel is fabulous!!! She hooks it up, for me and my friends!! We love her. The DJ, Alex is such a cutie, and always plays my favorite song, Baby Te Quiero by Flex y Belinda and plays a sweet mix of Selena, he also makes sure to throw some hip hop in there. The Owner is the sweetest Lady and deserves major props for having such a nice managed club. They have a very cozy patio to go out and smoke on and shoot the breeze. I would definitely recommend this club to everybody, that is down for the alternative lifestyle, which living in Austin, you all should be, and if you aren't down with it, go back under your rock. So, Sunday night is definitely when you'll see me there, with a smile on my face, and a corona in my left hand and a cherry vodka sour in the right :)\r \r Also, you should come out on Thursday Nights, for hip hop night aka Lesi Night. :)
1109 S Lamar Blvd
I love the Gibson for a glass of wine with the girls after work. We have made it a regular happy hour destination. A nice deck on the back when it isn't too hot, terrific huge booths we can usually all fit around inside. The owner/manager and staff always act happy to have us back and take good care of us. And there has usually been some great trailer food available from next door so it can be a dinner destination, too.

I was staying at a nearby hotel and come over because of their great beer selection. I was hoping to watch an obscure college football game from my alma matter that was not even division one. I walked in and the place was packed and their was a local bowl game on. I gave up and started to leave figuring I had no chance of getting a tv off the bowl game. The owner notice this and found me my own tv out of the way were I could enjoy the great food, beer and see the game. I was blown away. Great place with a real concern for their customers.
22.Red Shed Tavern
8504 S Congress Ave
23.Logan's On Sixth
200 E 6th St
A great bar. Free melting pots of alcohol are often passed around, and they are never out of good food, such as my personal favourite 'scorched earth', which is all roasting in Texas. Some of the regulars can be very unruly but as long as they have the capital to keep it running, I am more than happy!
6301 W Parmer Ln
The staff is always friendly and very fast, the prices are great, and the people that you meet are very diverse! it is also one of the last places in town that allow smoking.
8619 Burnet Rd
Great place good company and most of all Jackie!the Juke box has all or favorites! We have met some of our best friends and best Country Musicians in town! Jackie makes the place! And hugs to you Jackie Joy
26.The Hideout Pub
12164 N Mo Pac Expy
This well-hidden location features more flat screens than most downtown upscale bars. In addition to the regular sports showings, the Hideout keeps a steady stream of new and favorite movies showing to showcase this fact. The wait staff is pleasant, but not sickly sweet. Drinks are made the way you expect and are among the best priced in town. The decor is nothing to write home about and the seating is a disappointment, but the secret to this pub is its grub. Burgers are cooked to order and possibly the best in town, while the wings are gathering a cult-like following. Try this place out before it gets too popular for its own good or goes out of business.
208 E 6th St
We went to Friends on a whim, and we had the one of our best times in Austin. We saw The Erin Jaimes Band. A must see. The folks down at friends were so friendly and aquick to serve us. Thanks from Canada
28.The Chugging Monkey
219 E 6th St
Chuggin Monkey has the best bands, But this particular band ""The Mizzbehavin Band"" was Amazing!! The lead singer had some pipes!! I felt like I was at a Vegas Show lotta fun. Bar staff was Awesome & The chicks in this joint was some of the most gorgeous woman In Tx. I was also surprised to see an older crowd on a Thurs. nite. I will definitely bring some folks on the next run. Chuggin Monkey Rocks!!
