A Handshake Tree Service
I Feel the need to set the record straight about the Brittany Lyons complaint. I am the owner of hand-shke tree. I did the estimate and Miss Lyons was 30 min. late, but I waited for her. I estimated a very large elm in the back yard. I told her it would be $700 to deadwood. $300 to remove a large lead over the home and 3 other limbs. $500 for a removal, and a quote for a large elm in front, not sure the amount. She called in and accepted $300 amount. I took the call while driving and told her we'ed be out in a couple weeks. After about a week I looked over the contract and realized she only accepted a partial trim, and a partial job. I called her, after much consideration, and told her her options for the partial trim. Pay $100 more for only a partial trim, combine it with the removal or other trim, or hire someone else. She got very upset and hung up. I felt it would be better to give her options that would be fair than try to have my crew rush to remove a major lead over a home.

Ironwood Earthcare
We recently used Ironwood Earthcare for removal of two large cottonwood trees that were intruding on our house and both of our neighbors houses. I was delighted with everything about them; from calling the friendly office staff, to scheduling and the actual job that was done. They were 100% professional and receptive to all of our needs and special requests. We specifically requested that our neighbors property be left untouched and clean, we were not disappointed. I cannot recommend this company enough.

Stump Removal & Daughter
These guys are TRUE Professionals. They got here WHEN THEY SAID THEY'D be here, (Between 9 & 10 AM) They did a TON of work. One stump was as big as a SOFA, 3 Dead Thorn Bushes that covered the ENTIRE front of my house. They made that, AND A LOT MORE, go Hasta la Bye Bye, in less than an hour and 1/2. CLEANED UP EVERYTHING, Shredded all the branches and just did a 100% GREAT JOB! - ON TIME & FAST, how can you beat that?

Ironwood Earthcare
My son and daughter-in-law used their services last year. They were very happy. We decided to give them a call. Exceptional service. After cutting down our very large, and very dead cottonwood, the clean up was incredible. Every last twig and piece of sawdust was removed. There was no evidence that they, or the dead tree, were ever there. Price point was very good, too. I would joyfully recommend them.

A Handshake Tree Service
A Hand Shake was great! John and his team are knowledgeable, friendly, and fair priced. Thanks for helping out my trees and saving my roof from where the limbs were rubbing. I would recommend them and will use them again.
Tips & Advices
Do your due diligence and always ask for proof of insurance and certification before agreeing to any work. You will also want to be on the lookout for telltale signs of scams and be cautious of any company that:
  • Will not provide you with a certificate of their insurance policy or only has general liability coverage
  • Declines to give you a written estimate for the job
  • Gives you bids that either seem very low or very high
  • Contacted you out of the blue to see if you needed their services
  • Has complaints against it from business bureaus in your area
  • Asks for payment before starting work
  • Doesn't have a fixed physical address
Tree service companies are also great places to get your wood if you happen to have a fireplace. Many tree businesses offer free delivery and stacking of hardwoods, such as maple or birch. These can make for the best firewood because they burn slowly and don't produce as much smoke as other types.
If you want to add to the greenery in your yard but you're concerned about the right species to plant or where to put it on your property, seek the advice of an arborist.
If a storm hits and damages your residence, a tree service professional is usually on your list of people to call for help after first responders and your insurer. A professional service can completely remove a tree or just prune and saw off its branches if a storm damages a tree. After sawing or destroying the tree, professionals can then remove any of the dangerous debris from your yard by hauling it off.
Some bugs burrow through the bark and damage hardwood and softwood trees. Depending on the species of trees in your yard and the region of the country you live in, aphids, the infamous emerald ash borer or other pests could destroy your healthy trees.
