Recommended by other doctors to have his leg amputated- Now walking and driving with saved foot.

Dr. J. was totally focused on healing Ron's foot. He was aware of surgical techniques other doctors in the area did not know. Now that Ron's foot has healed, he still continues to provide the highest quality care. His attention to detail, skill and his tenacity are amazing.

After 4 years of disabling pain, 15 year old girl returns to full activities.

After 3 years of appointments to other doctors, my daughter was referred to Dr. J. He quickly diagnosed the problem and explained exactly what he needed to do. For the first time in 4 years, Ashley can once again participate in all activities without ankle or foot pain. We are 100% satisfied with her results. Dr. Lewis is awesome. We love him.

Overall
NCAA division 1 cross country runner finally able to run again.

I am currently on a scholarship for cross country and track and field at the University of Georgia. Last spring I had to red-shirt my outdoor track and field season becuase of plantar fasciatis in my right foot. I did everything possible to get healthy but was unable to achieve this even after 3 months of rest. Finally I saw Dr. Lewis who custom fit me with a pair of orthotics. The orthotics "cured" all my foot problems and I have run pain free for 12 months now. Without the treatment or orthotics I would not be where I am today. He is caring and knowledgeable and is willing to do whatever it takes to get your back on your feet.

Highly Reccommend

I have suffered for many years from chronic ankle injuries and instability that became unbearable. Dr. J. recommended ankle arthroscopy surgery. During surgery, Dr. J. also found that my pereonal tendon was torn in half as well. He performed four procedures on me that day!

Dr. Lewis did an awesome job. After several months of physical therapy, I was able to go on my annual ski trip to Vail. The surgery, recovery and reahb were exactly how he had described it to me.

I must admit when I first found out the extent of my ankle injuries I wondered if I would ever be as active as I was again. But with Dr. J's skill and expertise I am able to water ski, run and snow ski again. He has a terrific personality and bedside manner. His staff and office are very friendly and make you feel comfortable and welcomed. I highly recommend him and his staff.

Great success in my delicate procedures

I was referred to Dr. Gideon J. Lewis for treatment of a serious bacterial foot infection in August, 2008. I was seen almost immediately by Dr. Lewis, and was subsequently admitted to Florida Hospital due to the seriousness of my situation. Dr. Lewis from the outset was direct as well as confident about the procedures that would soon follow. He spent the necessary time to discuss what he was going to do, and what it involved. My wife, a registered nurse, was satisfied with his detail and professionalism. We were relieved to find that all of the florida hospital personnel we mentioned Dr. Lewis as my physician to, had only great things to say about him. We had moved to Florida only a few months before and had little point of reference for such a stressful situation.

Dr. Lewis was able to have great success in my delicate procedures. Weeks later, I began a series of visits to his office for check-ups. I found his administrative staff to be friendly and helpful with contacting/working with my insurance company. The nurses/assistants were personable and did not have to wait long periods of time for my appointments. I would recommend Dr. Lewis to anyone as a skillful surgeon, a confident and knowledgable physician, and a caring person. My four year old son Devin would give the same recommendation, as they forged a friendship throughout this four month recovery. I am grateful for Dr. Lewis and his team of professionals for their role in my recovery, as well as my Savior, Jesus Christ for my healing. Thank you, and God bless.

Back to work in 14 days with no further problems or pain

I'M A 47 YEAR OLD FEMALE WHO LOVES MOTORCYCLING. I'M ALSO A REGISTERED NURSE THAT LIKES TO USE MY VACATION/SICK DAYS HAVING FUN -- NOT RECOVERING FROM SURGERIES. MY FIRST ENCOUNTER WITH DR LEWIS WAS ON A PROFESSIONAL LEVEL -- ASSISTING HIM IN THE HOSPITAL WITH A POST-OP DRESSING CHANGE. WHAT IMPRESSED ME WAS HIS METICULOUS HANDS ON ATTENTION TO DETAIL AND THE PATIENTS NEEDS. HE KEPT THE FIELD AS STERILE AS POSSIBLE AND WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL WITH ME WHO HAD NEVER MET HIM BEFORE. (MOM ALWAYS SAYS YOU GET ONE CHANCE IN LIFE TO MAKE A GOOD FIRST IMPRESSION AND HE SURE DID.)

AFTER 25 YEARS OF NURSING I HAVE ASSISTED MANY DR'S WITH MANY PROCEDURES. MY FIRST AND LASTING IMPRESSION OF DR LEWIS IS: 1) FIRST HE IS AN ADVOCATE AND DEFENDER OF HIS PATIENTS (WHEN HOSPITALIZED THESE DAYS ONE NEEDS A DEFENDER) 2) VERY HANDS ON IN HIS CARE AND BEDSIDE MANNER. 3)GOOD DIAGNOSTICIAN -- WHO LEAVES YOU WITH KNOWING WHAT'S WRONG AND OPTIONS FOR PLAN OF CARE. 4) AN EXCELLENT SURGEON WHO USES NEW AND INNOVATIVE TECHNIQUES FOR OLD PROBLEMS -- WHICH DECREASE RECOVERY TIME.

WHICH LEADS ME TO WHEN I NEEDED SURGERY ON MY FOOT DUE TO PAIN I KNEW WHO I WANTED. DR. LEWIS WAS KIND AND EDUCATIONAL. SHOWED ME THE PROBLEM AND WHAT WAS NEEDED TO CORRECT IT. AS MENTIONED ABOVE BEING LAID UP WAS NOT AN OPTION. MANY FRIENDS WITH SAME PROBLEM TOLD ME OF 6 WEEK RECOVERY AND WHAT THEIR SURGERY ENTAILED. DR LEWIS HAD A DIFFERENT APPROACH WHICH WOULD TAKE 2-3 WEEKS RECOVERY. DR LEWIS TOLD ME SPECIFICALLY WHAT TO EXPECT -- REPEATED IT TO HUSBAND IN PRE-OP. SURGERY WENT PERFECT -- HE CALLED TO CHECK ON ME THAT NIGHT. LATER SENT ME TO A SHOE STORE -- WHEN I WENT THERE HE WAS ASSISTING ONE OF HIS PATIENTS TO GET SHOES ON A SATURDAY. I WAS BACK TO WORK IN 14 DAYS AND BACK ON MY BIKE TOO. NO FURTHER PROBLEMS OR PAIN.

THE NEXT YEAR I RETURNED FOR A MINOR SURGERY ON OTHER FOOT SAME EXCELLENT CARE.

THANK YOU DR LEWIS FOR YOUR EXPERTISE.

Overall
Very confident in his practice and his ability

My son had broken his pinky toe. In the whole aspect of things that would not be a very big deal. However, we were not aware that the toes was broken for several days, he had walked on it and also participated in outside activities that his feet were essentially covered in mud. ( racing four wheelers) Well when the toe was still giving him pain after 4 days we took him to his local physician.....at that point they said "there is nothing to be done, it is his pinky toe, it will heal on its own". So we went home, the next day his toe became enlarged and had a significant blister / discoloration to it. We returned to the doctor who in turn sent us to Dr. Lewis. Come to find out my son had contracted a very serious staff infection from the toe nail and since his toe was broken it needed immediate attention so that is could not get into his bone. Dr. Lewis immediatly set us up for my son to see an infectious disease specialist that he would work closely with to monitor the toe. My son had a "pic line" which is an iv that is installed into his arm that leads to his heart and had to have high doses of meds injected into his body three times a day for 5 weeks. We had regular check ups to monitor the infection with Dr. Lewis and he continued to make sure that everything was going according to plan. Because of his quick thinking and his ability in his feild my son recovered 100% from the ordeal. This was a wonderful outcome due to the fact that most people could loose their toe / foot to this kind of injury. We will definitely be returning to Dr Lewis in the future if there is any need what so ever. I am very confident in his practice and his ability.

No more ingrown toenails

I get pedicures regularly, but the toenails on my big toes became so ingrown, that my pedicurist said I needed to seek the care of a Podiatrist. Dr. Gideon J. Lewis was highly recommended, so I made an appointment to see him. He assessed both of my big toes which had painful ingrown toenails. Dr. Lewis suggested that he remove the sides of the toenails that were digging in. He said that he could use chemical destruction at the base of the nailbed where it was growing inward, so that I would never have ingrown toenails on those toes ever again. He proceded to work on both toes, and he was skillful and assured that I was comfortable. The procedure went great, and now I never have to worry about getting ingrown toenails again. Dr. Lewis was very kind and professional, and his office staff was very friendly. I highly recommend Dr. Lewis.

No more ingrown toenails

I had a history of getting ingrown toenails on my big toes. I would get pedicures regularly, but after awhile I needed to seek the attention of a Podiatrist. I saw Dr. Lewis and he removed my ingrown toenails. He also put medicine to kill part of the root of the nail, so that I would no longer have to deal with painful ingrown toenails on my big toes. Dr. Lewis was kind and skillful, and I would definitely recommend him
