Dental Examination

Oral Cancer Screening

Teeth Cleaning
A routine dental cleaning is performed by our dental hygienists to remove stains, plaque and tartar build-up from the surfaces of the teeth. They use special cleaning instruments and polishing tools to get all of the teeth surfaces clean and smooth, making it easier for you to maintain your oral health at home.
Fluoride Treatment
Fluoride treatments are often recommended for children and adults. Fluoride is a mineral that bonds with tooth enamel to make it stronger and more resistant to tooth decay. Fluoride ‘varnish’ is simply painted on the tooth surfaces by the dental hygienist after your child's teeth cleaning.
Dental Sealants
Dental sealants are also an effective and economical preventive measure; the plastic sealant material is painted onto the chewing surface of the permanent tooth to seal the deep grooves and pits. This creates a smooth, cleansable surface that makes it easier to remove food particles and bacteria during regular brushing. Your dentist and hygienist will check your child’s dental sealants during regular dental visits and will re-apply the sealant material if it comes out.

The denture appliance is made of metal or plastic resin and fitted with artificial replacement teeth selected to match the shade of your natural teeth (or a tooth-colored shade that you have approved).

Dental Implants
Since 1989, Dr. Petree has achieved and maintained licensure with the Georgia Board of Dentistry to provide conscious sedation in the dental office. He maintains an adjunct faculty position with the Medical College of Georgia where he trains other dentists to place implants and provide IV sedation in a general practice setting working with the post graduate residency program. Dr. Petree has attended many specialized courses in restorative, cosmetic and implant dentistry. He is an alumnus of the world-renowned L.D. Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education.

Oral Surgery
At Petree & Seibert Family Dentistry, our dentists provide oral surgery and dental implant procedures in the comfort of our Winder dental practice.
Gum Surgery
Gum Shaping and Contouring procedures can help improve a ‘gummy’ smile, correct an uneven gum line, or achieve a ‘smile makeover’ effect for teeth that are too short. Our dentists use laser technology to perform gum sculpting procedures. Laser dentistry allows the doctor to perform minor gum surgery with minimal post-operative sensitivity.
Tooth Extractions

Braces
Studies show that having a healthy smile is essential to your child's self-confidence as they grow up. During the early teen years, we monitor your child's oral health to make sure the permanent teeth have enough space to erupt normally. We may refer you to a dental specialist, an orthodontist, if we feel that orthodontic treatment (teeth braces) might be needed.

Teeth Whitening
Stubborn teeth stains from coffee, tea, wine or tobacco are not easily removed by brushing and flossing alone, and over time, they can discolor tooth enamel. Professional teeth whitening may be used to remove these types of stains and make the teeth several shades lighter.
