My comments concern the Pharma...

My comments concern the Pharmacy only. (I love the rest of the store -- it's well organized, prices are good, staff is friendly.)



I am ready to take all my prescriptions elsewhere. The pharmacy staff, apart from Suzanne, who is young and I believe fairly new, is growing more and more unpleasant to deal with. If only one pharmacist is on duty, it often takes several minutes for them to see you. Over the phone they are snippy, rude and insulting. They treat me like I'm a moron who is wasting their time. They say "ma'am" so many times and in such a way that it sounds like "b***h." I resent this. I have several medications, have been taking them for years, and therefore do not waste the pharmacists' or other customers' time asking numerous questions. I am well aware that only a doctor can prescribe or authorize refill prescriptions.



This week they lost a doctor's authorization. The pharmacist who treated me so rudely denied that the faxed approval had ever come in, and talked over me, implying that I wanted them to fill a prescription on my say so, or give me some pills to tide me over. For God's sake. This is a controlled medication; no one but my doctor can authorize that, I know that, told her I did, but still got a lecture about who can and can't prescribe drugs. :::arrggh::: It took 2 days for them to correct their error, and only after I called my doctor. He verified what I knew to be true, that he had authorized the refill within a half hour of his office's opening on the previous day, but sent another fax to Walgreen's anyway. When I went to pick up the prescription, that woman was not there. Had she been, I'd have reminded her of the Golden Rule and asked for an apology. In any case, I should have asked to speak to the manger on duty, and I may do it yet. And I may ask for a $10 store credit to take some of the sting out of this.



I know of others who have been also been insulted, talked down to and blamed for errors made by the pharmacy itself. I've been a CVS customer in the past, so I think I will be walking all my scripts across the street.
