General Info

The Garfield Park Academy, located in Willingboro, N.J., is a nonprofit school that serves children in grades kindergarten through 12. The academy serves children with mental health and behavioral disorders and learning disabilities. It has a staff of professional instructors, special education teachers and behavior management specialists to develop an individualized educational plan according to the child s learning abilities and needs. Additionally, it has a team of social workers, psychologists and psychiatrists that provide psychiatric evaluation, crisis intervention, and individual and group counseling and medical services. Its curriculum includes English, mathematics, computer applications, language arts, science and social studies. The Garfield Park Academy also provides various other vocational courses, such as horticulture, cosmetology, culinary arts, woodworking, and automotive and retail trade. It also provides physical education, and speech and language therapies. The academy additionally offers various outreach programs for parents and students that include education for how to tackle problems and provide support to their children suffering from disabilities.
