Henderson's Tree & Garden Service

I attended a tree pruning course ? actually a lab component of the S.O.U.L. Program offered by the Vermont Division of Forestry. The lab was sponsored in White River Junction ? and co-led ? by Henderson?s Tree Service.Though far from an expert, I consider myself quite knowledgeable about tree maintenance. I am a Vermont Coverts Cooperator, own and manage a 110-acre woodlot (American Tree Farm # 1464), am an active participant in education through the Vermont Woodlands Association and am the former Vice President of my Town?s Conservation Commission.I expected little new information from this Saturday morning workshop.Boy, was I wrong.Jim Henderson is quite the authority when it comes to trees. His knowledge of tree biology is impressive. But it didn?t stop there. He demonstrated tree pruning on two crab apples planted a few years ago as by the local Tree Board. His skill and proficiency in selecting where to prune borders on artistry.
