During your initial breast reconstruction consultation, Dr. Greenwald will inquire about your medical and surgical history including current medications and allergies. It is important to be thorough when discussing your medical history as safety is Dr. Greenwald’s top priority. Your full disclosure of all pertinent medical information prior to surgery will reduce the incidence of unwanted complications after surgery. Dr. Greenwald will also contact your surgical oncologist or breast surgeon prior to your consultation so he will be aware of what your cancer surgery will entail (removal of a portion or your entire breast) and whether or not it seems likely that you will need postoperative radiation therapy. Both of these issues affect your breast reconstruction. Your objectives and goals will be discussed. Dr. Greenwald will then discuss the different types of reconstruction available. Photographs of patients reconstructed with a variety of techniques will be shown to you.

General Surgery
Dr. Greenwald graduated from the New York University Medical School in 1995. He remained at NYU for his general surgery training. During this time, he completed a two year fellowship at the NYU Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery. His area of interest was gene therapy of craniofacial abnormalities. Dr. Greenwald received numerous awards for his research contributions. He has published more than thirty peer-reviewed journal articles.
Wound Care
Once you have scheduled your breast reconstruction surgery with Dr. Greenwald in New York, you will be given preoperative instructions that discuss everything from wound care to follow-up visits after your surgery. Prior to your breast reconstruction, you will need basic blood work and medical clearance form your primary medical doctor. You will receive prescriptions form Dr. Greenwald’s patient coordinator prior to surgery. It is important to have the medication prescriptions filled in the days prior to your surgery so they are waiting for you when you return home from surgery.
Minimally Invasive Surgery
Rejuvenation of the forehead and eyebrows have undergone significant changes in the era of minimally invasive surgery. In Dr. Greenwald's practice, a traditional "long-inciison" brow lift is rarely if ever indicated. Dr. Greenwalde prefers to perform an endoscopic browlift utilizing 3-4 small inciisons and the aid of a small camera or endoscope to elevate the medial and lateral eyebrows.

Prior to your BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment, Dr. Greenwald will inquire about your medical and surgical history including current medications and allergies. It is important to be thorough when discussing your medical history as safety is Dr. Greenwald’s top priority. Your full disclosure of all pertinent medical information prior to surgery will reduce the incidence of unwanted complications. Dr. Greenwald will first ask you what your concerns and goals are. Your face and neck will then be carefully examined and Dr. Greenwald will determine what areas of your face and neck may benefit from treatment with BOTOX® Cosmetic. The proposed treatment areas (worry lines, frown lines, crow’s feet) will be numbed with a topical anesthetic prior to your treatment. Dr. Greenwald will then use very small needles to carefully inject the BOTOX® Cosmetic. After the treatment, the areas may be iced for a short period of time. You may resume your normal activities when you leave the office. BOTOX® Cosmetic can alleviate wrinkles with little or no discomfort, and the entire procedure can often be performed over a lunch break.

Breast Reduction
More and more women in New York are choosing to have breast reduction surgery. Breast reduction surgery was the fifth most common procedure performed on women in 2006.
Breast Lift
Breast lift surgery, also known as mastopexy, is a procedure that enhances the shape of a woman’s breast. It is one of the more common procedures performed by New York Board Certified plastic surgeon Dr. Greenwald in his Westchester County surgical facility. Breast shape is affected by numerous factors including loss of skin elasticity that occurs with aging, pregnancy, breast feeding and fluctuation in a woman’s weight. As the skin loses its elasticity, the breasts tend to elongate and lose their more youthful form. If you are satisfied with your breast volume but feel your breasts sit too low on your chest, breast lift surgery will address your concerns. A breast lift can restore the contour and shape of your breasts.
Rhinoplasty
During your consultation, Dr. Greenwald will discuss your concerns about your nasal appearance and devise a nasal reshaping surgical plan that is right for you. Part of your consultation will involve digital manipulation of an image of your profile, using your input to determine which nasal features will be addressed and to what degree any correction will be made. One of the most important parts of performing a rhinoplasty is the preoperative planning. Every nose is different and every patient has different expectations. Therefore, it is critical that both the patient and surgeon have a clear understanding of the desired goals.
Breast Reconstruction
The goal of breast reconstruction surgery is to rebuild the contour of the breast so that it matches the normal cancer-free breast in symmetry and shape. Nipple areolar reconstruction and tattooing aims to restore symmetry between the nipples and areolas. Breast reconstruction has come a long way in the last twenty years. Most patients will get an excellent result with more than one technique. Dr. Greenwald will help you choose the right technique for you. In addition to the technique chosen to perform your breast reconstruction, the timing of your breast reconstruction also merits some discussion. While most patients are candidates for immediate reconstruction (ie reconstruction at the same operation as your mastectomy), some patients will be better served by a delayed reconstruction. Though some women may not be interested in breast reconstruction, they should certainly be aware of their options. Finances should not be an issue when dealing with breast reconstruction. In 1998, the Women's Health and Cancer Rights Act was passed. This act mandates insurance companies to cover patients' procedure of choice in all cases of cancer patients who have had mastectomies, as well as surgery on the opposite breast to achieve symmetry.

Face Lift

Neck Lift
When you arrive at the APSF (Harrison, New York) for your face or neck lift surgery with Dr. Greenwald, you will check in and be escorted to the surgery suite. Dr. Greenwald, his nurses and the anesthesiologist will meet with you prior to your surgery.
Blepharoplasty
The eyes are often the first facial features to show visible signs of aging. Patients often complain of puffy eyelids with excess, wrinkled skin. Cosmetic surgery of the eyelids (blepharoplasty) is performed to rejuvenate the eyelids. Just as there are many types of facelifts, there are many procedures to rejuvenate the eyelids. Some patients may benefit from simple fat removal of the lower eyelids which results in no external scarring while others may require that excess skin and muscle be removed and the remaining tissues restored to a more youthful position. If incisions are required, they are well concealed in the eyes' naturally-occurring folds and creases and become nearly imperceptible over time. Blepharoplasty is often performed in conjunction with other procedures to maximize your surgical result.

A lateral thigh and buttock lift is aimed at restoring a more youthful contour to these regions. You will then be asked to put a gown on. Dr. Greenwald will then make several important measurements. Photographs will be taken. Greenwald will then review your photographs with you.
