Overall

Sometimes its about more than the food

Does Ben's have the best hot dogs and chili? Probably not. But the location, atmosphere and history more than make up for it. I tried to get a couple of co-workers to go here but they balked. I came later in my trip and had a blast. I love places like this that embrace their past and are still down to earth. I'm not the only one who thinks this as the place is always packed with a line out the door at lunch. Come early and savor the atmosphere.

Best dog of show

Yeah! New York carts have there charm but, when it comes to the pure enjoyment of what a hot dog is, nothing beats a grilled hot dog from Ben's Chili Bowl in D.C. History and taste wrapped up in one! Don't escape D.C. without trying a turkey burger with a litle bit of that chili slathered on top.
