Family Practice
Dr. Kimmel is the team physician for several schools, including Enfield High, Stafford Springs High, and Suffield Academy. Hip Replacement
Anterior hip replacement involves implanting hip prothesis using minimally invasive techniques. The anterior approach spares rather than splits muscle, thereby allowing for faster recovery and fewer post-surgical restrictions on activity. Hemiarthroplasty (partial hip replacement) involves replacing the ball (femoral head) only and not the socket (acetabulum). The surgeon uses this technique when the socket is healthy in older patients who have sustained a hip fracture.
