I was hurt on the job and sent to Blount OCC health center and was not even seen by the MD. A nurse practitioner 'treated' me, and without an X-ray, or anything, sent me back to work with light duty. I ask several times to be referred to an orthopedic...and was given a "there is no need" reponse each time. Since then I have indeed been seen by an ortho and I have disc and back problems that have required surgery and require more. I have never been treated with such poor medical care in all of my 38 years. Ways to improve......give people the BEST medical care possible and do not 'dismiss' them if ALL the angles have NOT been covered..i.e X-rays, MRI, CT scan....
