Overall

Went a couple weekends ago for the 1st time we stayed at tent site 37 right on the river. Very nice place and friendly staff. The Porter potty’s were so clean. They have steps going down to the river which makes it easier on people with young kids to still be able to go down to the river and not worry if my kid will fall and hurt themselves. Very quiet out there I was worried about that cause some of the reviews people complained about the train that is close by ( you can hear it but it’s not that loud) and also I read that there is a dog rescue next door and read that you can hear dogs all the time but never heard them the whole time we were there. Already have reservations for July to stay for 2 nights besides just one. If you need a nice get away from everyday life this is definitely the place to go.

Very nice RV park near the scenic Medina River. Everything was clean, well-maintained, with large and level sites. It was good to be close San Antonio but still rural. We were just passing through on our way back to Florida from touring the Southwest. Found the campground by googling but what a stroke of luck! On an evening stroll to the river we were fortunate to run into owner and retired aviation professional Charlie B. Being aviation people ourselves we could have listened all night to his stories of his life and adventures. We certainly would return to Alamo River RV Resort and hope that our travels allow us to cross paths with Charlie B again. Thanks for a great stay!

I loved this place. It is well kept and the staff is extremely nice. The store has just about anything you need. There are different size lots that are beautiful and are reasonably priced. I can't wait to come back. My favorite part is the dog park. That was a huge help with my dogs.

"Peaceful Easy Feeling...." to quote the Eagles. The setting is country and many of the residents have been here awhile so they become your neighbors and friends. There is abundant wildlife to watch and enjoy and of course, a river (and park!) that is walking distance away. Management is personal and friendly and the park store is very convenient. It is easy for me to recommend this RV park to anyone! Bring your fishing poles!

Overall

My husband, 2 young children, 2 dogs, and I all camped out here with our pop up this Labor day weekend. Man did we have a great time. This facility is amazingly beautiful. The gentleman who owns the property is so nice! You can tell he is proud of the place and all the cool history that goes a long with it. They have a cute club house with a pool table, a shop for various supplies (most importantly ice cream) and free movies you can rent! It also has wifi that worked well enough we could even stream movies on our tablet. Also, for other dog lovers, there is a fenced dog park. When you go down to the river, its like entering another world. We would joke that when we went back up for the restrooms or something (which are unbelievably clean always) it was going back into the light. The lower section of the camp ground is heavily treed with giant, mature trees and tons of shade. The fishing is very good. The people are so friendly. Lots of great wildlife to watch as well! We highly recommend this place and will be back as soon as we can!

We stayed here in March of 20...

We stayed here in March of 2012 -- and now we understand they now have Guided Horse Trail Rides.

We found this campground on the internet while passing through and we are sure glad we did. This campground is not just what you see when you first arrive. While the sites are new as is the bathroom / laundry building. The real gem is what they have on the back part of the ranch down by the river! We had no idea what was there until we were given a very informative tour by two of the staff. The river area must be seen to be believed. There is wildlife everywhere and it is very quiet. The area is shaded and it is a very big place. There is a herd of deer that live on the property. We understand that horse riding is very popular on the ranch but they do not rent horses. (We spent 2 evenings just sitting by the river listening to the birds and the running river -- very peaceful and simply beautiful. The sites below are for tent camping and day use although they do have water at each site and a pop-up or an RV would certainly fit but you would be boon docking. The sites above are where we stayed and are new -- graveled and level. Everything worked fine including the new Wi-Fi System that was just completed. It was the first park in a long time we stayed at that Netflix worked like a charm. There is a store / clubhouse that is very nice. They have grocery items and they are also an RV parts dealer. They have a very large movie library that you can borrow from -- and I mean large! One of the things we were very impressed with was the staff. I am not sure we have been more welcomed at an RV Park. It was funny when we pulled in one of the staff members came out to our motor home and said "We have been waiting on you -- we just made some fresh coffee -- come on in!" Just like coming home! There is a lot of history to this Ranch and the stories that were shared with us were very interesting. We met the owners and they were a joy to be around! We found it very interesting to be so close to San Antonio but still out in the country. They have a winning combination here and we will most certainly be back. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Real country quiet

We stayed for two months with Charlie and Roxie and got to say was one of the nicest experiences we have ever had. Not a fancy resort but with nearly a hundred acres to ramble on it was great. NEVER have had such a quiet RV park and yet so close to down town. We stayed at a park that was the closest to the Alamo and it was in the getto.
