Animal lovers BEWARE!On July 11, 2018, I accompanied my daughter and her beloved 9 year old Siberian Husky to this clinic. “Isis” was experiencing severe trauma, i.e., tremendous lethargy, inability to stand on her own, and without control of her bodily functions.Dr. Susan E. Gibbs, DVM, ordered x-rays and blood tests. The blood test showed, in the her opinion,Isis was suffering from severe dehydration and severe anemia, but her main focus was on hip dysplasia, wanting to prescribe muscle relaxants. She then showed us the results of the x-ray showing us the organs. She felt that the liver had a foreign growth above it. She guessed that this might be toxic substances irritating the liver. (The foreign object that she was pointing to was the stomach which was only slightly visible on the x-ray.) She pointed to the kidney and said this was the stomach. “I am at a complete loss as to what Isis’ problem is,” she commented. She said that we should take her to an emergency hospital overnight to hydrate her overnight. After we pressed the vet for more possible reasons for Isis’ current condition, she could not offer any.We questioned, at that point, our frustration over not finding any etiology of the situation, she ‘stormed’ out of the room, muttering,“Any other person would have done the same thing!”She never returned. We took Isis to Bay Beach Emergency hospital.Dr. Megan Howard, met with us and informed us that Isis was suffering from IMHA.She gave us our options, including a blood transfusion because all the red blood cells were depleted,. After much consideration and discussion, my daughter and her family decided to not allow the beloved family dog to suffer any longer and chose euthanasia. After talking with Dr. Howard about our experience with Dr. Gibbs, she said she was going to call Dr. Gibbs and educate her toward identifying IMHA. Why does a licensed DVM have to be educated to recognize this?Animal owners to be cautious when taking your animals here.
My dog was acting oddly (tilting her head, difficulty standing). Not one, but two of the vets told me that they could not determine what was wrong, but that whatever it was, was serious and would require 'a lot' of testing. As my dog is at the upper end of her life expectancy, they asked me, "Where are you with this?" I explained that I could not justify spending hundreds/thousands of dollars on the unknown. They gave me a referral to an emergency vet hospital for euthanization. The younger doctor also gave me the phone number of a vet who travels to your house and puts your dog down for $250. My wife and I sat with our seven year old daughter and cried together about what we had to do.
Thank God we got a second opinion from another vet. With a visual inspection (no costly blood work) and our description of the symptoms, she diagnosed her with an inner ear condition. She prescribed Meclizine and within a few days our family member was up and running around like a puppy.
When I called the clinic, the Practice Manager was less than sympathetic and was actually rude to me. While she did apologize for her two doctors’ “misdiagnosis”, that was the extent of customer service offered to me. She even mentioned getting her lawyers involved. Today I received a letter from her letting me know that they would no longer serve our dog.
If you choose to go to this clinic, my best advice is to have another one in the wing just in case.

I have been going to Strawbridge Animal Care since 1994 and have always been exceptionally pleased with the care of my dogs. There has been times when I have gone in as an emergency and the Dr. has seen my dogs right in the waiting area, got him on meds right away that were absolutely needed. I also have a dog that is 15 years old & that there is never any hesitation when I call about a concern that they cannot see her. They are excellent Drs. and staff and always professional. I won't take my animals anywhere else and highly recommend them to people I know.

They are always able to get me in the same day! With my hectic schedule, this is really a bonus along with their late night hours. All of the staff know me by name and go up and above for my furry babies.

I was very pleased with the result of my visit to Strawbridge Animal Care. My golden had had a crusty cracking nose with off and on drainage for over a year.. I was told by another veternarian that he just had an "old age nose". It got to the point that he became lethargic and could barely walk. Diagonosis by strawbridge: nasal infection. Within a month (he was put on antibiotics) he was up and running again. The staff is very friendly and Dr. Deavers' knowledge brought my dog's shiny black nose back. When I first took him in I thought he wasn't far from the end! Thank you Strawbridge Animal Care! Sharon.

I have been very pleased with Strawbrdge Animal Care and refer all of my friends. The staff are very friendly and have gone out of their way to make sure my animals are well cared for. Dr. Deavers is the best!! She truly cares for the animals she sees and is extemely thorough. She diagnosed my dog with Leishmaniasis and lymphoma about 3 years ago. The care that he received from her his last few months was amazing. She continues to care for my two other dogs. I highly recommend Dr. Deavers and Strawbridge Animal Care.

Provided by SuperpagesStrawbridge Animal Hospital closed and now it looks like we are in for a treat. New business has opened in the same location with new veterinarian. Have been in several times since the old business shut down and have met the new folks and let me tell you...they are fabulous! Worth stopping by to meet. They are extremely friendly and caring and go out of their way to take care of you. What a 180! Their front desk staff is very professional and the new vet even came out and talked to me in the lobby to answer some questions when I didn't have an appointment. I saw the previous review and just thought everyone should know, seems like change is a REALLY good thing.

Provided by SuperpagesBeen taking care of my cats for over 10 years. Last two years, you cant get an appt. The office is closed most of the time. They dont order or keep the special cat food I need in stock. One person running the entire office and you can tell.Frankly, my attitude/opinion about this place/the people went from great to down right stinky...Im looking for a new vet soon as I can get my cats records out of the business this vet and his office person deserted...Yep, just up and left it...
