Researchers from Karolinska Institutet have compared high dose exercise therapy versus low dose in patients with symptomatic knee osteoarthritis. The study published in the journal Annals of Internal Medicine show that both groups had similar results. However, high dose exercise therapy provided superior outcomes related to function in sports and recreation in the short term, with results subsiding after six months.

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is compression of the median nerve in the carpal tunnel of the wrist. A synovial sheath surrounds each tendon in the carpal tunnel. As the synovial sheaths swell with age or other inflammatory condition, increased pressure is placed on the median nerve, strangulating the blood supply to the nerve. This can result in numbness, pain, and tingling in the thumb, index, long, and ring fingers as well as weakness in pinch and grip strength. Prolonged compression can lead to permanent damage to the nerve. A nerve conduction test is usually performed to help diagnose the degree of compression. Mild carpal tunnel syndrome can be treated with NSAIDS, splints, and steroid injections. Moderate and severe carpal tunnel syndrome are often treated with carpal tunnel release. Carpal Tunnel Release is a surgical procedure which releases the transverse carpal ligament of the carpal tunnel, relieving the pressure on the median nerve and restoring its blood supply.

Frozen shoulder is caused by inflammation of the ligaments holding the shoulder bones to each other. The shoulder capsule becomes thick, tight, and the stiff bands of tissue called adhesions may develop. MRI
Biceps tendon tear is usually diagnosed based on your symptoms, medical history, and physical examination. During the physical examination, your doctor will look for a gap in the front of the elbow. Your doctor will diagnose a partial tear by asking you to bend your arm and tighten the biceps muscle. You may have pain if there is a partial tear. X-rays may be taken to rule out other conditions causing shoulder and elbow pain. Using an MRI scan your doctor can know whether tear is partial or complete.
