Cody's Original Roadhouse

My father and I went to Codys this past Monday 9/26/2016 and by 9pm that evening we had incredibly terrible gastrointestinal discomfort. We both were infected with food poisoning from eating at this Tampa location. Food poisoning is the result of poor hygiene practices and lack of cleanliness. All we wanted was to enjoy a nice dinner together. Instead, we enjoyed a nice night of VIOLENT VOMITING. When reporting this issue to their general manager, we were told the only thing they could do was offer us a gift card. A gift card. Not our money back for the discomfort their food caused. Just a gift card. Because we are no longer interested in being patrons of Cody's, we declined. I sincerely beg you all to improve your food preparation standards for your patrons. Until then, I would not recommend Cody's to anyone. Under no circumstances.

Don't know what restaurant the rest of the reviewers were at. our experience was bad enough to warrant a review. the service was somewhere between poor and ok. After being seated we only saw our server twice. we had to go searching for drink refills and missing condiments. The peanuts were stale. The salad was nearly dry, practically no dressing and only one tiny pepper, no tomato, really just barely fresh lettuce. We ordered two of their most expensive steaks; fillet and a ribeye. My wife had to put a lot of salt and sauce on her fillet before she could eat it. My ribeye came out flat and grey with taste to match. The mushrooms we ordered came out black and mushy. we had them taken off the check. The best part of the meal was the onion soup and the yeast rolls. The dinner for two came to over $50 and we felt completely ripped off. They have a big bar, I suspect only inebriated customers could like this food. avoid this place!

Outback was my favorite place until I found Cody's. Great food. Love the salad.
