Dental Sealants
We place tooth colored sealants on teeth to protect them from decay. We advise placing sealants on children's teeth once their first permanent teeth erupt.This aids in protecting their teeth from decay.

Fillings
Resin Composite
Bonding is a tooth-colored composite resin (similar to an enamel) that is bonded to the tooth surface to repair and/or change the color or shape of a tooth, then sculpted into shape, hardened, and polished. When teeth are chipped or slightly decayed, bonded composite resins may be the material of choice. Bonding also makes a great tooth colored filling for small cavities and broken or chipped surfaces. It can also be used to close spaces between teeth. Additionally, it is used to cover the entire outside surface of a tooth to change its color and shape.
Veneers
Many times, the demands of cosmetic changes in the mouth are too great for simple bonding. This is when porcelain laminate veneers may be used. Porcelain veneers (sometimes referred to as laminates) can change an entire smile. Porcelain laminate veneers are quick, painless, and dramatic. They can change shape, color, size, and arrangement of teeth or any combination of these factors. They can be used as an alternative for orthodontic treatment. The best part about porcelain laminate veneers is that they can be placed in two visits.
Crowns
Crowns are usually full coverage of a tooth or teeth with a dental material usually a precious or semi-precious material. Full coverage of a tooth is indicated when much of a tooth surface is loss due to decay or from fractures due to trauma. Sometimes crowns are done for unsightly discolored teeth due to stains or old fillings that are stained.
Bridges
Fixed Bridges are used to replace missing teeth wherever there is an appropriate tooth or teeth which can be used as an abutment (anchor) for the missing tooth. Bridges are usually made of the same dental materials of a single crown.

Teeth Whitening

Cosmetic Dentistry
Dr. Washington Ray, Jr. served as an US Air Force dentist for many years before deciding to return to his home State of South Carolina along with his wife and three young sons. His eldest son, Arian Ray, followed in his father's footsteps and became a dentist. After his tour in the US Army as a combat dentist, Dr. Arian Ray joined his father's practice. Within two years the practice outgrew its facility and Dr. Arian Ray decided to expand the practice under his ownership to its current location where Ray Family & Cosmetic Dentistry opened the doors to its state-of-the art facility in 2009. Focusing on the patient's comfort and ease along with incorporating the latest in technology, Dr. Arian Ray wanted to change the face of dentistry by not only making it a technological marvel, but also a pleasurable experience. Dr. Washington Ray, Jr. retired in 2015.
