Dixie Grill

We are snowbirds and eat here from time to time when in Florida. The food is good and affordable. But the waitress we had, a shortish stocky brunette woman, I'm guessing in her early 50s and who has been working here for years, is gruff, snippy, impolite, rude and so forth. On this particular day she was truly unpleasant and completely ruined our dining experience. There was a new waitress working during our visit. Although new, she was working quickly, efficiently, she was pleasant, professional/clean cut, sociable, sweet and was being very nice to every customer in the restaurant. My wife and I could not understand why this brunette waitress, Chris I believe her name is, was being so hard on this girl. We truly felt she was acting like a bully for no good reason. The older waitress is smarmy, fake and boorish. She seems to favor only certain clientele, never spending quality time with us. Rushing through us to chit-chat with her regulars. On this day, she seemed to be rushing through our order so she could get back to bullying this poor new girl. We could not figure out why this Chris was being so harsh as we all thought the new girl was doing a wonderful job. But this beastly waitress, Chris, was grabbing at this girl's order pad, harshly scratching out what the girl had written down. She was hideous, ridiculous. We were shocked. So much so that we and some of customers took notice of her bad behavior and decided we would write these reviews to let others know that if possible, you should request a different waitress if you go there. We have felt so bad for this young lady since witnessing what she went through. So, it is a decent little place with an atrocious bully of a waitress. Nobody wants to see an innocent hard working person get beat up like that. We also overheard this woman making derogatory comments about one of the other patrons. I believe the woman was deaf and Chris, although standing in the kitchen area, said loud enough for us to hear, how the sound of the deaf woman's voice made her sick. Simply horrible. And mean. We give the younger

lady a lot of credit for staying on point and very pleasant while taking one hell of a beating from the older woman. If your job is hospitality, you should never behave the way she did. If I were the owner, I would fire this woman no matter how long she's been there. She reflects very poorly on this decent restaurant. If and when we return, our family and friends will walk out and take our business elsewhere if she is allowed to continue to work there. Nobody likes a bully. FIRE HER.
