Lane A. DeCoster is Senior Vice President, Chief Underwriting Officer, and Underwriting Services Division Manager of Genesis. He leads corporate underwriting, referral underwriting, actuarial pricing, data analytics, predictive modeling, coverage wording, state filings and regulatory compliance, and catastrophe management for enterprise risk management. He has the same roles for GenStar. Prior to assuming these positions for Genesis in 2015, he was a Vice President and Senior Referral Officer for Genesis and GenStar. Lane’s career began at The Home Insurance Company as a commercial underwriter. In 1987, Lane joined the Gen Re Group and held various reinsurance positions in underwriting, marketing, and management in Treaty, Casualty Facultative Programs, and initially Genesis. Lane received a BS degree from the University of Vermont.
