I checked into at least a dozen schools when we arrived in So FL. I now have my 2nd child in this school. The teachers are amazing, you know their biggest goals are to keep your child happy, healthy and learning! My 1st child came out and was at the top of his K classs in both reading and math, this school consistently has high reading readiness scores, could not be happier with

Wonderful school; loving staff. I had visited seven preschools before selecting New Horizon Learning Center as our preschool. I sent all three of my children to New Horizon. My youngest is now a recent graduate. They all had a wonderful experience at New Horizon Learning Center.

Horrific sad experience for both my child and I. My child went to new horizon for about 8 months. While he was there 3 MAJOR events occured to him personally that were illegal and dangerous.. But the way that these events were treated were so nonchalant by the staff, were so frightning to both myself and my 3 year old we will never go back. (I have been advised to sue but having to make my child relive this mess would be torture) I would like to briefly inform you of what these events were: 1) August 2013 My childs arm was broken because of inproper supervision. Worst thing is the teacher who was supposed to be watching him at the time said that "it wasent her fault he must have had a calcium defiency". My two year old at the time had to wear a cast for over a month and still has problems to this day. No action was taken by Kim or the staff. 2) 9/2013 I was told by the tattoo covered assistant teacher that day that my child must of been hit at home and that they could report me and have my child taken away from me. I told her I have never harmed or hit my child. As she had no proof and no reason except to cause trouble. 3) 2/2014 I recieved a phone call from the school stating my child was crying holding his arm. i was told another child hurt him while playing blocks. So I picked my child up and took him to the doctor. The doctor proceeded to tell me that his arm was dislocated by force. I asked if a child could of caused it and he said "no it had to of been caused by an adult pulling with force". When we called the director to find out what really happened we were told by the assistant director that no accident report had been made. Later on that night we recieved a call from Kim the director and was told what happened. My childs lead teacher admitted to injuring my childs arm on the playground when she yanked him hard from where he was playing. Only after several complaints an incident report was made. The teacher is still working there to this day and the director did not do anything to fire or repremand these employees. Besides that there has been many other disconcerning events, but I just cant get myself to talk about them. Its too much. Unfortunately because of all this I have had to take off from running my business full time and Ive had to become am a full time mom with no income. Never again will I trust my child with a preschool, especially not one so small and unknown. Its so sad too because everytime the word "school" is mentioned around my child he clams up and hides. Theyve turned what was supposed to be a wonderful experience for my child into a traumatising event, I just hope that we can get him to forget about it in time for kindergarten. Please do not take your children to this school.

Great church

This is a great church for families. It's a small church. The people are sincere and always make you feel welcome. They have excellent programs for youth. We attend the 11 am Sunday and the time works great for my family

My experience at this school site was a horrific experience. After researching and visiting several VPK centers we decided that this was definitely the perfect place for our child to attend. I saw parents walking out as I went to drop off my registration forms/fee and everyone gave it amazing praises, I was extremely excited for the school year to begin but unfortunately I no longer share the same sentiments. The lead teacher was absent during the first two days of school due to a medical procedure, her substitute on day two made a disparaging remark about our child as I was holding the door for her to enter the main building. Little did she know that I was the mother of the child she was so annoyed and bothered with! Upon informing one of the directors of the incident I was just smiled at and told that the substitute clearly did not realize that I was the mother of the child. Not sure how that makes this scenario ok, but I let it slide. On day four our child was sent home with a note requesting that we speak to the lead teacher during drop off the next day. During that conversation the lead teacher who only has a High School diploma (as stated by Kim- the director of NHLC) essentially labeled and diagnosed our child as having ADHD, stating that the behavior displayed by our little one was "not normal," and she had certainly never seen it during her 7 years as a teacher. She proceeded to ask if our pediatrician had suggested or advised us on possibly evaluating our child, and even went as far on her second day with our child to compare the behavior displayed to that of another child that she had the year before. According to her, the child she was referring to should not have gone on to kindergarten but his parents had not listened to her advice. Upon hearing all of this I was truly astonished, how is it that this VPK teacher who certainly has years under her belt but by no means is a master of the profession can come to these conclusions within a two day span. When I brought this up to one of the directors I was given the following response " well teachers talk, so she knows what has been going on." Yes this certainly may be true but shouldn't we make our opinions based on what we have solely observed, not label a child as the behaviorally challenged one of the class without having a lot of interaction. Bottom line is this all took place within the first week of school, now I know what it is like to want to address certain issues that kids may be having early on in order to rectify them but as an educator myself (with several degrees) the first rule is DO NOT DIAGNOSE a child unless you have the proper credentials! Clearly my child was not going to receive the proper care at this facility so it was in my opinion best to withdraw and transfer him to another location in order for all parties involved to have some sort of resolution. Although this decision came about due to the rudeness, curt, and lack of professionalism from a staff member at this location my registration was not refunded. I called to also ask about the supplies that I had turned in, and only half of the items were returned. Nothing like ending on a good note!
