Before you attend Gateway I recommend you do some research on Pastor Robert Morris and his Blessed Life tithing doctrine.... If you become a member of Gateway Church you will have to contribute the first 10% of your paycheck to Gateway Church before you pay your mortgage, your electrical bill or take care of any of your familys needs. If you dont pay gateway 10% off the top, you will be cursed according to Morris.

If a Gateway member claims I am making this up, please google or youtube "Pastor Robert Morris tithing" watch the videos and decide for yourself.

Also investigate the $100+ million dollar budget of Gateway Church and where your tithe is going.

The singles parent dinner is Monday night and a great opportunity for your kids to meet others. This building is like a Mall with a commercial feel to it. The praise and worship is too loud because you can feel it in your chest and it leaves very little room for getting still before the Lord, including the light show swarming the audience and stage. I am not much into all the show business. The people are freindly but it is so crowded , it is hard to get to know anyone. This week will be my second visit and My family is needing help. I have sent e-mails and helped with packing 15,000 soup meal packets that were sent to ( I am not sure where). We could have used one. I am thankful God can use me and we are looking forward to embracing the opportunities to Grow in Christ, if this does not happen, we will just visit. or try the smaller NRH location.. Pending membership......

Absolutely Amazing Church!!!

Gateway is an absolutely amazing church! Been to many churches in multiple states - this church is great. My family and I, along with hundreds of thousands of others around the world have been and continue to be truly blessed by the Lord's wonderful ministery. Life changing!!!

Wolves in sheeps clothing!

don't be fooled by businessmen (or women) masquerading as annointed people because they draw you into the "blessed" life by innuendo that if you set foot in their mega church - make your public display - set your 10 % from the top of your income in the basket -- that YOU too will experience the blessing. God is not a bubble gum machine - you don't put a nickel in and expect your treat! Notice how he stresses the tithing!

I have been attending Gateway ...

I have been attending Gateway off and on since 2008. I went to about 8 different churches before I ended up here. As a former Catholic, I was not into the whole praise bit but later, as I started to feel moved by the Holy Spirit I loved it so much. I was always happy to go to Gateway.

Ever since Gateway moved into the bigger church, I have not felt the presence of the Holy Spirit. (see the other review that says the same thing -- what prompted me to write this review in the first place).

I continuously seek prayer on Sundays and yet to feel the Holy Spirit. Lately Pastor Morris has been hinting about his political leanings saying things that are historically incorrect and void of an thorough understanding of finance, economics and politics. For example, it Bush not Obama who passed TARP (the socialist bailout) of our economy. Also the USA has not had a true free-market economy since the creation of SEC and regulation of all our major industries. Not trying to act like I know everything but his political/economic hinting has nothing to do with loving and worshipping God. It's also maddening to see the followers "Amening" and clapping when he does. I just wonder where all these people went to college (if they even did).

He should stick to the business of God and having people grow closer to God -- not alienating the smart and well-educated people who attend that church.

Call me when he realizes he is not an anchor on Fox News. I'd gladly return.

I worked so hard to find a good biblically grounded church only to watch it disappear right before my very eyes.

I have started attending Gatew...

I have started attending Gateway with my significant other earlier this year. Having grown up attending traditional protestant church I find the service a little different.

Overall, I find the messages to be very good and I usually get something out of Pastor Morris' message.

But I sometimes find the Praise portion of the service to be sometimes over the top and for some one like me who is not very good at displaying one's emotions or feelings it is uncomfortable when the praise leader shouts for everyone to raise their hands.

Where Pastor Morris is good is at saying "...if you are comfortable doing that....", which someone like myself appreciates. But many other leaders in the church do not make that distinction. If they really want to be open to everyone, it would help that there be some acknowledgement that not everyone worships in the same manner. The messages are usually great, the praise portion is like a rock concert that sometimes feels to be over the top, especially when Pastor Morris is not leading the message that weekend.

Overall
Great Church with a lot of great people

I go to gateway often and love the service. Very much like going to a concert every sunday. It is so large; however, that you will likely not get to know many people. It is like a small town.

The positives:

1. great teaching and classes weekly

2. great programs

3. Great kids programs - second to none

4. Nice facility - second to none

The Not so positives:

1. Before they moved to the giant facility you could really sense the Holy Spirit in the place now I have yet.

2. Gateways large growth has left many, many local churches devistated when they promoted their growth they took the members of other congregations. These other churches I have viisted try not to complain, but it is in their hearts. They are left with fewer children, much less for ministry and capital repair. (Many are angry with Gateway).

3. It will take a while to get to know people - you really must work at it at Gateway.

4. Worship is no longer as intimate at Gateway it seems to be becoming more institutional and production focused: very much like a concert.

5. Gateway is, as it seems, trying to become more popular and known -

I still like gateway as I have gone for a few years and have friends there, but I can't help but compair the early church's success, being poor that they were, with a notion that Gateway seems to have that one needs to have a large facility and welathy in order to minister effectively.

I suggest that if you are considering going to Gateway: visit for sure, but remain faitefull to your church - and if you are at Gateway and left an older congregation: Go back and see how your departure has hurt the community. We who are followers of Christ need to stop worry about the things of the flesh and concern ourselves with those of the Spirit.

The Best Church I've Ever Been Apart of!

Gateway is a great example of a community of Christ centered believers. The church is filled with excellence and warmth and my family and I felt like we found our home when we stepped through the front door. The first time we stopped by to visit we knew that we had found our church home. It's life changing!

Great church but needs DIVERSITY

I have visited Gateway on several occasions and everytime I am blessed by the word of God spoken through the pastors and teachers. However, I also encountered one unpleasant incident where iI feel there was no cultural sensitivity and it made me very uncomfortable. I brushed it off and continued to visit. I feel that there could be more diversity at Gateway considering the area is becoming more developed. The message that is taught is: We are all about people. But when I visit with my family, we get stares and no one extends themselves to make us feel welcome. Not even the greeters. I don't get it. So I chose to ignore and continue to go for the dynamic word...but I do not feel at home and I would not make it a place to worship permanently since I have children and I don't know if we would ever be "accepted".

As a pastor and a leader at Gateway I would love to meet you and welcome you to our community. We are large and we can come across as "big church", but our heart is to connect to our guests with small town manners. Look me up and we'll talk!- Craig
