Overall

Incredibly awful customer service, top to bottom. I would normally not bash a company publicly online, but when a poor review is needed, it’s needed. Their technician, MATT, was rude, uniformed, unprofessional, unpolished and honestly ….incompetent. I've waited a week for my call-back from management and still no one has returned my 2 call attempts and detailed messages. As someone who has re-done their previous home and interviewed, chosen and hired multiple tradesmen, I have offered 20+ great/positive reviews on Angies’ List and Home Advisor and Porch when the work and customer service sides of my hired contractors has earned my praise post-completion. This 5 Star Appliance company was sent out by GE to fix my malfunctioning 2 month-old microwave; my mother in-law was home at the time. The tech was 4 hours early, with no call to announce he was on his way ahead of schedule and when my mother in-law opened the door he said he was there to fix a dryer. He didn’t even know why he was there. When the tech called me (HIS NAME WAS MATT) he was rude, misspoke about the reasons I called in the first place and about why I needed service, told me he ran his tests and found no issues, and that GE won’t pay him now because he can’t find any problems so he’s billing me now. When I said “Well there has to be someway to work this out with GE, I have a faulty appliance that does not operate 100% of the time”, he cut me off and said “OK you’re refusing payment then...” AND HE ABRUPTLY HUNG UP ON ME. I never said I would not pay or not discuss the issue. When I immediately called him back and calmly asked him if he heard the loud clicking noise I described in my note I left for him, he said “Sir you refused us payment, I’m ending the call” and HUNG UP AGAIN without waiting a millisecond for my response. HE THEN GATHERED HIS THINGS AND WALKED OUT THE DOOR AND LEFT without a word said to my mother in law. I called their office immediately after my mother in-law called me back to say how uninformed and rude he was to her, and I left a live message with their secretary. She took notes and said a supervisor or manager would call me back soon. That was over a week ago. STAY AWAY from this company! And if GE or Whirlpool or Maytag or Kenmore or ANY MANUFACTURER says they’re sending out a company to service your under-warranty appliance, ASK THEM for the name of the company and request ANYONE OTHER THAN 5 STAR APPLIANCE IN NJ! Matt was rude, uniformed, unprofessional, unpolished and incompetent…and as far as I’m concerned, their managers are too, for allowing such disrespect and not even extending me the courtesy of calling me back within 7 days. Shame on you, Matt. You are a black-eye for your company. I will be cross-posting this on Google Reviews, Yelp, Angie's List, Yellow Pages, etc.
