Established in 1967, Northwood High School offers its services to the students from rural and urban areas. The school is located in Shreveport, La., and offers an extensive curriculum for students in grades five through 12. The school has an enrollment of more than 900 students and is governed by the Shreveport Schools. It offers a wide range of courses, including English, languages arts, mathematics, science, social studies, technical and vocational courses and health and physical education classes. It also has various clubs and organizations, including band, culture, drama and mathematics clubs, student council, the Future Business Leaders and the National Honor Society. Its students also participate in various community services, such as recycling program, blood drive, adopting a highway and cookies for troops. Northwood High School also offers a variety of sports and athletics activities that include baseball, basketball, football, softball, wrestling, tennis, golf and track and field.
