Overall
our experience

My boyfriend and I went this place for the first time on Memorial Day weekend. The menu posted looked appealing but somewhat limited on choices. The waitress/bartender was very friendly. The place at that time of day (1pm) was not crowded maybe 1 or 2 patrons at the bar for a beer. The drinks came pretty quickly, and I asked the waitress/bartender for suggestion on a couple of dishes as long as they were not fried food. She suggested one dish, which I ordered, but somehow when she brought our food out I got stuck with fried chicken. Somehow she did not realize that was not what I ordered although she made the suggestion. I did not want to wait (we had been waiting for awhile already), so I picked the chicken of the fried coating. She comped the coffee.

This past Friday we were up in Saugerties again, we decided to have dinner in town. It came down to 2 places this one did not look particularly busy. The bar had a bartender, and there was 1 waitress on the floor. The entire place has only six tables, and 4o them were taken. One with 2 people and the other three with 3 people each. We waited to be seated, but after few minutes with no acknowledgement, we sat down. The waitress saw us but it took her 15 minutes to get our drink orders. Within 5-6 minutes we got our drinks and placed our order. Half way through our wait for the appetizers, I asked the waitress for some bread, only to be told that they do not have any bread. It took 45-50 minutes, from the time we ordered to get the appetizers, one salad and 3 pieces of spring rolls. Although pretty famished we had to wait few more minutes, because there was no silverware on the table. Not once she came to the table to ask us how was the food. By that time 2 tables had left. From the time we finished our appetizers to the time the dinner was served there was another 30 minutes of wait. 15 minutes into the wait the waitress told us that the food would be out "momentarily" 15 minutes later we got our food, tuna medium rare for me and regular size (shell) steak for my boyfriend. She came to our table once to check how the food was. We had our coffee and dessert, left an appropriate tip and left the place pretty quickly. It took 2 hours of mostly wait to have dinner. The morning after we decided to have lunch out at another place down the street, but there was 20 minutes wait just to get a table. So we went back to PIG and since no tables were taken we thought we might get lucky. And only three people at the bar. This time the waitress was also the bartender, and she recognized us, and she commented that she was not expecting us back this soon. I told her that the place down the street had 20 minutes wait. She got our drinks fairly quick, and we placed our order. It took the kitchen 40 minutes to make a cheeseburger w/ fries, a salad and 6 pieces of sushi. While we were waiting for our food, 2 people came in, and they had 2 glasses of wine EACH by the time their food came out. When we finished we asked for coffee, only to be told they had none. They had run out of it. We tipped properly and went across the street to get a coffee. I am a waitress my-self, so I can understand the stress, but no silverware on the table, no coffee? That is called prep work. 15 minutes to get a drink order? and not checking on the customer? That is not professional. I understand if you are busy, 4 tables it's not busy. I am left to wonder how they stay in business. Suggestions: hire a real chef, and teach the wait staff how to be more efficient. We won't go there again, period. And our Saturday lunch? We just digested it today (Monday afternoon). Now we know why the place down the street had 20 minutes wait for a table.
