San Pedro Quick Lube & Detail

I feel that the service was decent; however, there was an undesirable situation. I paid with my debit card and the clerk asked for my card THREE times and I had to enter my PIN number each time. She stated that the charge was not processing. I asked her "Are you sure that my account is not going to be debited more than once?" and she stated "Yes." Sure enough when I checked my account later that evening, it was debited twice. I went back to SP Quick Lube the following day with a copy of my bank transaction showing the double debit and the clerk informed me that I must speak with the owner and that he was not present at the time. I asked him to contact the owner to which he did and he started the conversation saying "Do you remember we told you there is a problem with the debit machine?" With this I know the owner is aware of this problem. The owner was not willing to allow the clerk to give me a credit. He stated that he had to check his records first. I asked to speak with the owner to which he declined. I contacted my bank immediately to file a claim and due to the fact that both transactions were done within seconds, she was able to request a credit to my account which I should see tomorrow. With this I am saying to be careful if your card is swiped more than one time and to check your records. I do know the owner is aware of the problem and he may be trying to fix it OR he may not be trying to fix it. Most people don't reconcile their account and will never know they were debited twice.
