San Francisco Girls Chorus, also known as SFGC, is an organization that specializes in music education and choral training services for girls between the ages of 7 and 18. Founded in 1978, the organization serves more than 300 girls from over 150 schools. It offers a preparatory chorus program for girls between the ages of 5 and 7. San Francisco Girls Chorus maintains a staff of trainers that conducts classes in choral artistry, vocal techniques, performing styles, and music theory and history. It has received the American Society of Composers, Authors & Publishers award for excellence in adventurous programming. The organization operates the San Francisco Girls Chorus Parents Association, which conducts several fundraising activities and special programs.
