My compressor on my 8-month-old refrigerator died with a bang on June 29th. I missed a day of work waiting for a return on my emergency call, during which time I got things started again, with the noiseless frost-free doing exactly those two things. I got a window appointment for July 2 from 4-6PM(more than 72 hours after the incident), and got a call from the repairman at 7:05PM asking if he could come by at 9PM! I said I would reschedule, which I did-for the following Monday(8 days now),11AM-1PM window. I got a call at 9:45 from the same repairman, saying he was just around the corner. Thankfully, I was dressed. He comes in and, in spite of telling him my background as an inspector for Marriott Residence Inns, proceeds to reach me about how refrigerators work. During this process, he breaks the thermostat in the freezer, and tells me happily that he'll have to come back, giving me a long look that made my skin crawl. I know this is he said she said stuff, but my phone record supports it. Gross!
