Teeth Cleaning
Really awesome place with genuine people who made me feel right at home. Genie is great and really took the time to talk to me and explain all procedures as she did them, from an office tour, to x-rays, to teeth cleaning. Dr. Ochinang is awesome and thorough in his explanations, addressing all of my concerns with options for treatment plans. Overall a great experience and I’m glad I found them!

Resin Composite
Dental amalgam, or silver filling material, is a mixture of mercury, and an alloy of silver, tin and copper. The release of mercury in silver fillings is so small that it is much less than what patients are exposed to in food, air and water. There are, however, other materials that can be used for restorations. These include gold, porcelain, and composite resins.
Veneers
Porcelain veneers are ultra-thin shells of ceramic material which are bonded to the front of the teeth. This procedure can be an ideal choice for improving the appearance of the front teeth by masking discolorations, whitening teeth and/or reshaping a smile.
Crowns
A root canal is a procedure done to save the damaged or dead pulp in the root canal of the tooth by cleaning out the diseased pulp and reshaping the canal. The canal is filled with gutta percha, a rubberlike material, to prevent recontamination of the tooth. The tooth is then permanently sealed with possibly a post and/or a gold or porcelain crown. This enables patients to keep the original tooth.

Dentures
Dentures are no longer the only way to restore a mouth that has little or no non-restorable teeth. Strategically placed support, or implants, can now be used to support permanently cemented bridges, eliminating the need for a denture. The cost tends to be greater, but the implants and bridges more closely resemble the “feel” of real teeth. Dental implants are becoming the alternative of choice to dentures, but not everyone is a candidate for implants. Call your dentist for advice.

Consistently striving for dental excellence, Dr. Ochinang has accrued over 1000 hours of continuing education, attending a number of military and civilian dental courses. In 2017, he initiated an intensive one-year training program, the TexMAX Implant MaxiCourse, which is accredited by the prestigious American Academy of Implant Dentistry, furthering his education in implant surgery. Simultaneously, he is also completing a comprehensive min-residency with the Dawson Institute for Advanced Dental Studies gaining further mastery in disorders of the TMJ, worn dentitions, and unbalanced bites.

No. When carbamide peroxide, the active whitening agent, contacts water, hydrogen peroxide is released which whitens the teeth. Bleaching does not soften, demineralize or weaken the teeth.

General Dentistry
Following the events of 9/11, Dr. Ochinang began to consider entering the military. Following graduation from dental school, Dr. Ochinang commissioned as a Captain in the United States Air Force in July 2004 and completed Commissioned Officer Training at Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama. He then accomplished a rigorous one year residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry at Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi. Dr. Ochinang was then stationed at Goodfellow Air Force Base, Texas where he completed the rest of his commitment with the Air Force until his separation in 2009 when he was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal for his service. In 2007, Dr. Ochinang deployed with a medical team from Goodfellow Air Force Base as the lone humanitarian dental provider to aid Peru earthquake victims, surgically treating over 150 patients.
