Overall

I bought a 2003 BMW 325i from Jake Alexander Auto Sales in Salisbury NC back in September. The car had relatively low miles at 111k. I was told there were no issues with this car. I was even told by the owner, Steven McCullough, that Randy Hall Automotive had done a thorough check up of this car before he sold it to me. Randy says he never saw the car before I brought it to him for repairs within a month of purchase.

The first weekend I had issues with the car. I called Steven and he said to take it to Randy Hall which I did. Randy did a bunch of work on the car...replaced some things including the brakes and then it seemed ok. At this point Steven has covered the repair costs since I told him from the beginning that I had issues. He told me numerous times, "We will take care of you". A couple weeks later I had more issues. The car wouldn't shift from Reverse to Drive...Steve then gave me a loaner car and sent mine to a friend of his who works on BMWs. "Peter" replaced a sensor and some hoses. He also told me my car may possibly need a new transmission. An independent transmission guy told me that same thing!!!! I panicked as I bought it in good faith because of what awesome condition the car was in according to Steven.

I have had nothing but issues with this car from the beginning which are noted by the dealership because I've been by there and called many times with these issues. I went with my boyfriend to a Christmas party this past Saturday night and we got less than one mile from my house and the car felt like it wasn't getting gas. It slowed and RPMs went way down several times. We turned around and took it back home and got his truck instead. Yesterday I was on my way to Peter's to let him check it out since he works on BMWs and it cut off and left me stranded on the side of the road.

I will never go back and I will tell everyone I know to avoid this dealership. I feel Steven KNEW this car was a bad one when he sold it to me!!

I thank you for your intial assistance in the purchase of a 2003 Land Rover Discovery II HSE. As you are aware, I am very displeased with your unethical business conduct. I entrusted $1000 to you as downpayment on the vehicle. I was misled that this vehicle would perform. I reported issues with the vehicle to you on March 26, 2013 1 day after purchase. The alignment was off, I noticed the headlight and rear tag light were both burned out. The wiperblades were damaged. These issues were communicated to you in a timely manner. I have yet to receive any monies. I had the bulbs replaced by GoodYear Auto Center in Salisbury, NC. I had Land Rover Service Department inspect the vehicle as well. I reported this information to you with the understanding that the amounts would be refunded to me. I have attempted to have you repair the leaking head gaskets, transfer case, track rod and drag link assembly. You have failed to make the necessary repairs. You then informed me all you could do is "trade" me into another vehicle. As you are also aware, that I only came to you for a Land Rover. I also informed the finance company (MarketPlace Finance in Asheboro, NC) as it pertains to the vehicle's problems.

I also requested a copy of the inspection you had performed in November of 2012 by a service center by the name of Win Auto in Concord, NC- I attempted to locate them myself to no avail. Do they exist? I was in your office the day I requested the inspection copy. You made a phone call to someone to supply the copy. I have yet to see that as well. I was informed by GoodYear and Land Rover Dealership that several issues with the Land Rover should have never passed inspection.

Today, I came to your dealership with all paperwork from the auto centers to collect the amounts owed to me. I was informed you were out of the office until May 7, 2013. I had your assistant make copies of the bills. I have canceled insurance and returned the vehicle to your dealership- with the acknowledgement of the finance company. I am once again attempting to have you refund me the amount I spent to have the bulbs replaced, the Land

Rover inspection and the full downpayment of $1000.

Please have the amount of $1,170.50 ready for me to pick up from your office by Wednesday, May 8, 2013 no later than 7:00pm

Itemized bill amounts:

*GOODYEAR AUTO CENTER: $30.50

*LAND ROVER SERVICE INSPECTION: $140.00

*DOWNPAYMENT: $1,000

TOTAL: $1,170.50

Better Business Bureau Complaint #9527340

Thank you for your prompt response to collect the aforementioned amount.

Sincerely,

Displeased Customer
