Sammy J's Breakfast Cafe

My girlfriend and I had brunch at Sammy J's on May 28th, Memorial Day. Background information, when my girlfriend and I were in high school and college in the 1970s, we both worked in area restaurants--so, we know how restaurants are SUPPOSED to operate.

Although we had to wait a long time in order to be seated, it was WELL worth the wait: the food was EXCELLENT--we had the BEST pancakes, the BEST eggs, and the BEST bacon, etc. in any restaurant anywhere--along with VERY generous portions--and VERY good coffee.

Unfortunately, the service could have been better, and the waitstaff could have been pro-active--but were prompt in their response to all requests. For example, we had to ASK for CLEAN silverware--because our table had been set with DIRTY silverware.

Unfortunately, too, the location (next to the Fire Station, and with VERY limited parking) was NOT very good; and, the seating and the atmosphere was even WORSE.

BUT, it should be noted that the food was EXCELLENT, and the waitstaff were responsive. Definately a destination for when it is not a holiday.
