China City Restaurant

A local favorite. I have been going to this restaurant weekly since 1988. It is the only thing my exhusband and I agree on. The General Chow Chicken is different than what you are probably used to. It is more like Egg Foo Young Gravy. The fried rice is not yellow like the fast food Chinese restaurants. I like the fried rice that way the color comes from soy sauce which is more authentically chinese. Yellow rice is cuban. Don't let the run down exterior keep you away. Apparently they spend more time and money on the food instead. The young man at the cash register has been there since at least 1988. so don't let the baby face and lack of wrinkles fool you. Look at the Gray above his ears. He must be at least 37. Tell him Tammy says hi. and try the polynesian Duck ask for extra bell pepper and carrots if you like.
