Thanks for fixing the fridge. It's frightening to see that 15 minutes of labor can cost $150 dollars. I wouldn't be able to sleep unless I spoke my mind. I have to say I feel taken advantage of. I wanted the actual receipt of the part not just what you put on the paper but forget it. The God I serve will multiply my blessings. I will be SURE to leave you a Google review. Take care.

On 9/26/2011, Rod's Appliance ...

On 9/26/2011, Rod's Appliance Repair diagnosed our broken ice maker at our home. We had told the technician that we thought it was an optic sensor issue. He claimed that based on his system tests, it was not an optic sensor issue. Since he could not determine the cause of the ice maker not functioning properly, he recommended to replace the ice maker and not the sensor. He also mentioned that he never had to replace the sensor and it could not have been the issue. He stated "9 out of 10 times the icemaker needs to be replaced". That diagnostic service cost us $44. We decided to listen to his advice and replace the ice maker alone (part FSP 1129313/Kenmore Coldspot). Rod's Appliance subsequently ordered the part and the new ice maker was installed once again by the same technician. The technician stated that it would take at least 24 hours to produce any ice. I found it odd that he would say it would take so long to work, but gave the benefit of doubt. We still received no ice the following day and left numerous voicemails with Rod's Appliance Repair to resolve the issue. We finally reached the technician almost two weeks later (in all fairness he was on vacation) and simply requested a refund for the ice maker cost ($180) since he clearly did not know how to fix the issue. He immediately stated that we were not getting our money back, and that no refunds are provided for new parts. I told him that since it was a new ice maker, he could simply take it back and use for the next customer who needed a new ice maker. He still refused to provide a refund and abruptly hung up. After all that, I personally purchased an optic sensor (what we originally suggested to the technician) and replaced myself. Ten minutes later - not 24 hours as suggested by Rods Appliance - ice started working. I would never recommend this company as it seems like pure guesswork while diagnosing an issue. Very bad experience. Based on other reviews, I am not alone. This is my first negative review of a vendor - that's how poor our experience has been.

Never showed up -- very rude!

I called this company for a dishwasher repair and waited 2 days for him to come. When he didn't show up that morning, I called him back and he said he'd come later that afternoon but again never showed and never called. I then checked my computer and realized this was the same company I'd called about a dryer service months before and he'd never showed up.

When I called to complain and mentioned I should tell my friends about his repeatedly poor service, rather than getting an apology Steve said "Tell your friends, we don't want their business anyway."

Very Disapointed

They have terrible customer service & must not be in need of business. As a local business owner who has used multiple time and reffered both family & friends for over 15 years, I WILL NEVER USE OR REFER THEM AGAIN! Requested service and a part ordered for my refrigerator (cercuit/memory board???). I after a month I called again and was told trouble with delivery/company and part not received. Patiently waited an additional month and I called again. The responce was they changed part supplier last week & can't tell me when they will be in! I asked, a week, two week, a month??? What would I be waiting so I could make a decision weather to wait or not! That way they could cxl or proceed with order. That I was a long time customer and would rather use them but didn't think I could wait another month (defrosting the freezer every week & getting more frequent). Wasn't looking for a promiss or a exact date, just approximation. I was told if you want to use someone else fine! While telling him I would probably have to do that, sorry for not being able to wait and hoped to use them in the future, I WAS HUNG UP ON!!! Called back and NO ANSWER!!! Needless to say I left a message.

A return phone call some time during the 2 months letting me know may have helped!!! Or even a I understand and if you can't wait or need to use someone else, we hope to have your business in the future. I am a business owner and I know you can't help everyone all the time, but you sure can always have good customer service or good manners.

not at all happy with this company

Owner of company said dryer was fixed and 2 hours later it wasn't working again, he came back and replaced a part but told me to pull the dryer and make sure the vent was working - I can't do that - but he left anyway. My son made sure the vent was working. Two weeks later, the dryer isn't working again - same problem and this company wants to replace the same part and tell me to pull the dryer and to change this and do that - and wants to charge me again. I told him to forget it. $120. to replace a fuse and was here five minutes each time.
