Good atmosphere.. but a little disappointed about the food.. I was expecting much more. I don't think I will be coming any time soon.. spend $70.00 in dinner and I promise you it was not worthy.. i eat better tacos at the taco stand next to my house

Overall
OK I Guess

Positives: Brisket, atmosphere, decor, mac & cheese, mased potatoes, outdoor sitting and open bar area

Negatives: Overpriced drinks, no salsa or hot sauce served with tacos, ribs, kids selection, bun on brisket sloppy joe should be toasted

Went here for lunch on Friday and brought the family back Friday night to see if the food, atmosphere, etc... was any different than the lunch hour rush. For lunch on Friday, I ordered a brisket sloppy joe and side of mased potatoes with ice tea to drink. The brisket had a lot of flavor and I like the idea of serving it on a jalapeno butter roll, but the roll needs to be toasted in order to support the sloppy joe meat mixture. The bread became very soggy and a complete mess to eat. The corn cheddar mased potatoes were good and I like the way they serve the ice tea in a caraff.

For dinner, we started off with the Indian bread, which is nothing more than a soapailla on steroids. Same texture, same taste, just not as fulffy as a soapapilla. The kids loved it of course because they could dip it in the honey, but I was not too impressed.

I ordered ribs for dinner with a side of mac & cheese. I was really excited to try the ribs and was extremely disappointed when they came out. The flavor was off balance and they could have used more sauce. I had to spit out gristle in almost every bite, which was not very pleasant. The mac & cheese is nothing special but was still the best part of my dinner.

My wife ordered the brisket tacos and wa soemwhat pleased with her dish, but felt they should have served three tacos instead of only serving two for the price. She was also disapointed they were not served with some salsa.

My kids ordered the coboy grilled cheese and kids taco plate. The cowboy grilled cheese is served on texas toast with brisket, cheese, horseradish sauce, and grilled onions. I was able to steal a bite when my daughter was not looking and it was probably the best thing we ordered. I only wish it had more brisket and was a little thicker for the price. My youngest daughter's kids taco was hard to eat and reminded me of something you would get from taco bell. It was very liquidy and had teh consistency of a burrito.

All in all, the place is not that bad to hang out, have a few drinks, and have and ok dinner. The outdoor fire pit, open area around the bar, and outdoor sitting is nice for the area. The food was a little disapointing because the menu looks so promising and you want the food to be good. When you drop $70 on dinner for a casual dining restaurant, you at least want to leave somewhat satisfied and wanting to come back again soon. The place has potential and I'm sure there may be better items on the menu other than what we ordered, but it will be a while before I go back and try anythign else.
