Avast software inc.

A scam at best .. they may have software but I've never seen it nor would I have it on my computers .. now they're trying to install updates and supposedly did .. business practices are on a below zero level .. wonder how they sleep at night !

I wish I could give NO stars. I paid $192 for Avast Total Support. After they logged in remotely to supposedly "fix" problems on my computer (a technician who barely spoke English and was hard to understand), they broke the functionality that allows us to switch between multiple users. My computer was no better off than when I started. I asked for a refund (even just a partial refund) and they absolutely refused to even consider it. I despise this company.

Their anti-virus software works but my experience was that Avast promotes dishonest billing practices. The internet mentions several trial offers of the product. I signed up for a 60-day free trial via the internet; but had to give Avast my credit card info to activate the software. Because I no longer needed it, I tried to cancel before the trial was up. Their rep told me the company ONLY offers 30-day free trials and that is what I signed up for. Then they accused me of missing the deadline to discontinue. When I contested that fallacy, their rep said I signed up for a trial version AND a yearly subscription (two products). Long story short, I am having to pursue getting a $49.99 charge removed from my credit card through Discover, the Department of Justice and the Better Business Bureau. My credit card rep said they get a LOT of complaints about Avast's billing. Run away from this company! And never give anyone from Avast your credit card info for a "trial" version.
